Hey guys, my s3 recently keep freezing and need to remove battery or hold the power button to reboot.. Even happened after fresh ROM installed. Is this MMC or MOBO related? Wanna claim warranty but afraid they change  the wrong part. Even after reboot, still occurs :/. 3-4 times reset within 5mins

I have encounter this problem last week and i spent my day to read the xda forum. End result is to download an apps called "dummy file generator" and run the apps then select start to write dummy file on your internal memory.

During the process your phone might freeze but let it be. Your phone will freeze and unfreeze itself, but when the process is completed just select delete all dummy file. from that second onward your phone should be free from freeze problem.

I hope this can help other SGS3 user too biggrin.gif

ok, i've tried the 'dummy file generator' method. the phone froze second after deleting the dummy files. will see if it behaves beter after it came back from freezeland.
a lot of ppl has been having this problem from what i read. no actual fixed found yet
*
If your phone is still behave like before i suggest you to follow the steps below :-
1) make sure your rom is the latest rom
2) backup all your things from int and ext memory
3) connect your phone to pc and on the my computer right click to format your ext and int memory
4) download the dummy file generator and run it again (for int memory)

observe your phone biggrin.gif

if you bring it to SC they will reflash the rom for you and see whether your phone will still freeze. If the freeze still exist they will only replace mobo for you.

Freeze occur because of the emmc malfunction hmm.gif thats why when your phone is freeze just let it be it will unfreeze and your phone will recognised it as bad block. so next time if your phone writing data to your int memory card it will skip the bad memory block and your phone will not freeze. (sorry for my bad english, I know my translation is bad but im just trying to help)

i know your intention to help is good but this is only an advice

if someone know how to flash custom rom like supernexus, he/she already know how to boot into recovery

no worries mate. the thing is it did froze for a few times after i generated dummy files, it restarted few times. but now all seems back to normal. so it did help. havent had any freezing for 3hours+. even managed to download apps and install, and also play games which usually will cause it to freeze.

will wait and see if its really gone.

regarding the bad block. does it mean now i have less space/memory block to store things?
will the system permanently recognize the bad block n skips it?

in theory, Yes but I dint see my int memory become lesser unsure.gif haha...
