I don't find different in smoothness in between Z and Butterfly.

But I do find different smoothness in between One and S4, some more One is lower clock speed than S4 and S4 not maintain it smoothness on all 6 units I try out. I only try 3 units of One and all running smooth and the most smooth I can said. Far better than Z anytime.

just an idea.. what if you can flash S3 to ICS with bootloader then root it then PC odin all the way to Jb custom 

right now i go 2 set S3 bot on custom ROM (wanamlite) if not mistaken my one unit was on custom ROM all the way and the other unit was on ICS custom rom then got bluetooth slot got problem need to send to SC and b4 SC i flash to ICS and OTA to JB.. after that root when come back. then got red ! .. ask ppl for old bootloader form ppl + TA.. ! gone and at download mode everything look OK + everything show official but at device status show Modified but the other unit  show status Normal although both unit on Wanamlite ROM

Meaning you wanna root with "Normal" Status. hmm.. Maybe you can try this if not too hassle. Cause myself and some one did the same, our phone show Stock, status normal and rooted..

1. Use PC odin to flash stock JB.
2. Use framaroot to root.
3. Use TA 2.37 to reset status.

Your phone will be rooted, from download mode show stock and under phone status show "Normal"..

  now both of my unit no ! even thought always update ROM with CWM  but just out if curious why one phone can status phone status Normal while the other unit show Modified on phone status.. FYI both phone have NO red ! and download MOde show samsung Official
