QUOTE(xxboxx @ Apr 18 2006, 06:59 PM) it depends on your TV actually, most HDTV supports upto 480p and 1080i(540p) only. only high end HDTV supports 720p. this thing does not convert the video signal, it just connects your computer vga port to your HDTV rgbhv input, which both of them are compatible. there is a tool called powerstrip which u can use to change your graphic card to resolutions and refresh rate that your HDTV can support. this output is much better than a S-video output to TVcheck this out if you want to know more http://www.keohi.com/keohihdtv/experttips/...superguide.html |

Frankly speaking, RGBHV through RCA connectors aren't very common. Instead, you usually see separate RGBHV on BNC connectors on professional or high-end gear. If your HDTV has a VGA port, then I recommend using it instead.
BTW, I'm curious, what make and model of HDTV are you using? |

QUOTE(mcchin @ Apr 19 2006, 01:04 PM) i think you've got it wrong then u should look for such cable as well, to have resolution up to 1920x1080i or if your plano supports 720p, even up to 1440i.this is a vga out to a component cable not a ps2 out to component i think you have better luck in pc forum since this is a pc thingy ya like my old samsung plano cost a bomb but have vga input too bad it only supports 640x480 handy for watching dvds MAME is the best console ever! I dunno...the question is WHY you want to play MAME games on HDTV via PC??
True HDTV mode (720p /1080i ) etc are all wide screen. I dun think you'll find any widescreen MAME games. Even if you somehow manage to get it working in 720p/1080i mode, you'll either get stretched screen or black side borders...why bother?? 480p isn't HDTV. I play MAME in 480p games using XBOX and frankly, not much of a difference with 480i. Lastly, all MAME are old games, dun need hi-res at all. Just use ur standard S-Video cable out and it's kau tim. No need to waste money or headache. This post has been edited by Matrix: Apr 26 2006, 04:47 PM |

I dun think you are right, but before you load the game, you need to navigate in your windows. well, if i have a TV that is capable of higher resolution, why not fully utilize it.you'll find any widescreen MAME games. Even if you somehow manage to get it working in 720p/1080i mode, you'll either get stretched screen or black side borders...why bother?? i search for quite long already but cannot find in malaysia, at least klang valley. i have ordered from the states. wish me luck. |

This cable is useless unless you convert the VGA signal onto component output via converter, the cable itself won't do the job
