not all program is compatible with intel processor yet meaning mac only programs not able to run or windows only program? i am assuming they will only be compatible when the next OSX leopard is out?
and what is this classic mode?
im new to the world of macs and need guidance.

I think 76radius should have quoted "not compatible with x86 platform" instead of intel processor.... this means not all existing programs (that are meant for the PPC-platform) are able to run on the x86 platfrom, and hence they only run via emulation on Rosetta or they don't run at all, not until these developers release a Universal Binary version that's compatible with both PPC and x86 architecture....

Classic mode refers to an environment native to OS9 (and earlier?). Some old programs run under OS9, but the developers never ported them to OSX when Apple made an OS switch 6 years ago, and hence Classic Mode that only runs on PPC-based OSX....

PS: please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong....

With boot camp u never need other PC to use windows anymore. Just install it on new intel's mac.

i prefer PC over boot camp....

1. I have a PPC-based mac
2. To crunch on GC projects with WU-limited quota....
3. Avoid windows infesting on my mac...
