Hi,

I believe it is common for young people who are single (or even married) to go travelling together with their friends, and would like to save on accommodation by fitting in more than 2 persons in a room (e.g. 4 people in one room) because most of the time, hotel only serves the purpose of resting when you go travelling.

It is the same for me but I looked through the Internet, some of the more common tips and ideas given are as follows:

1. Do not bring more than 2 person when checking in (one room), and only call your friends up after you've checked in.
2. Put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door so the housekeeping won't find out there are more than 2 persons staying in the room.

Basically these are the two common tips that we thought of.

And I've also read that some travellers got hefty charges when checking out after they were caught by the hotel management for fitting in more persons than the rooms' maximum no. of guests.

Are there any other ideas or tips out there to avoid being charged extra for bringing more persons staying in one room? Or any hotels that someone has bad experiences due to being charged for extra persons.

Feel free to share and comment.

And of course forumers are also welcomed to contribute their choices of hotels to fit in more people (e.g. spacious rooms etc.)
