hi guys, as the thread title is stated...i was wondering( i havent got an Xbox 360 yet but planning to get one from Djinn very very soon)....should i buy a 19inch LCD monitor to play my games or just use my regular average tv(32 inch)...

ive been doin "research" on the net and i would just like to get sum feed back from u proud 360 owners out there

for me, im interested in getting a good resolution and getting to enjoy all the details that an xbox 360 and its games can offer. And sadly no..i dnt have the money to go buying plasma tvs lol.....any advice would be appreciated to help me solve my dilemma....

what about CRTs?better choice compared to LCDs when playin ur xbox 360?

PS: i never owned a LCD monitor b4...so i dnt knw what to expect...heheehee

lol...my 32 inch tv old wan la...sony triniton im guessing its wide screen coz it has a rectangular shape...long width and short breadth..lol

so let me get this right, a widescreen LCD is better than what any CRT monitor can provide?
btw, do all LCDs provide HD quality images?

using an LCD monitor would not require a vga cable? only crt monitors?

off-topic: what do u need other than a modem and streamyx to join xbox live and play games online? is there a charge or a monthly bill thingy needed?sorry still a newbie at this xbox360 thingy...hehehehe

hehe...guess i'll have to aim to get a 19 inch widescreen then....im wondering what about the sound?unlike all tvs, u dnt really see monitors with in-built speakers. even if they have it its hardly even good....i do have a 4.1 creative speaker set....how do i connect this to the 360 and the monitor?or do i have to get another gadget thingy to plug it in?

whats the difference if u play the 360 on an LCD monitor with DVI output and an LCD monitor with no DVI output but u use a VGA cable?


btw(an LCD with DVI output=digital LCD whereas an LCD with no DVI = analouge LCD?)

once again i wanna thank all those who have contributed in making my choice easier....guess i have boiled things down to 2 choices.....

a) a 19 inch widescreen LCD monitor
or
b) a 20++ inch CRT monitor

which should i get? btw, are there any widescreen CRTs out there?
btw..im not planning to watch any movies on the monitor...primarily used for gaming..so is a widescreen really necessary?

ive decided (of course this is with my budget of RM1k at the most) to get

a) a 19 inch widescreen LCD monitor
or
b) a 20++ inch CRT monitor

the question is which should i get?

and yeah..if i wanted to watch a movie i already have a nice dvd player with a big tv(not a hdtv la, thats why i dnt want to play my future xbox360 on it )
so im not sure if i need a "widescreen" feature

well..if u can afford the 20 inch then u should definately go fr it im using a 19inch widescreen myself and ive gotta say its friggin awesome
another question u might want to ponder on is "how often will u be gaming on ur 360?" coz if ur answer is like twice a week/only during the weekends..then why waste the extra RM500 eh? besides..LCD prices are known for dropping really fast and really steep. About a month ago the LCD model ur looking to get cost RM1700 fr the 20inch

hehe..sorry fr late reply...mines CMV...cheapest with pretty good specs...only one down side i can see = 1 year warranty viewsonic gives 3

19inch LCD or CRT?id say the monitor either ways...altho it may be 2 inches smaller than the tv but it'll be clearer

why not go for either a benQ or Viewsonic(3 year warranty)? if ur a little more "gungho" and want a cheaper but same specs(sometimes even better) why not check out CMV(1 year warranty)

for 19 inch u can reach 720p for the 360...pretty nice
