Oooo goood. I thot it's gonna be in Japanese.
From what I gather if you compare it to Ace Combat series it pales in comparison.
Initial impression after playing 2 missions:
The cheesy Japanese drawings are still there like Ace Combat, the mission briefing scenes are really NOT next-gen, very simple and anime stills.
The first 2 missions I played are very short. Maybe it's cos I'm still really at the "training" phase of the game? Dunno .... The storyline is the usual good vs evil kinda thing.
You get to choose team-mates from a group of 5, each with their own speciality to suit the mission. You get to choose what type of weapons you load onto the plane or just choose default which auto-configures what's best to suit that mission. Like Ace Combat, there are intercept (i.e. kill!!) missions, escort missions, land target missions, sea-based missions, etc.
Plane handling is pretty straigh-forward (left stick to up/down and left/right) but there is also a manual controller setting which is suppose to make the plane controls more "realistic" (whatever that means). I'll just stick with simple for now.

You can choose landing/takeoff to be auto or manual.
When you fly the plane up/down sharply, your tv screen blacks-out (if going up) and turns red (if going down), supposedly to simulate the G-Force a pilot goes thru in real life (hence the Over G in the name!!). So you may temporarily lose vision and fly blind.
The interesting bit is the characters' personal development. Like when you finish a mission, depending on how well you did for that mission, your personal traits will improve or decline accordingly (e.g. mental, shooting accuracy, G-force resistance, focal distance, etc cannot remember all at the moment). Different missions improve different traits. So I guess we're suppose to either specialise in a particular trait or spread it out and just generally improve based on the missions you choose. Damn I wish the manual was in English.
Again initial impression after just 2 missions, yeah I kinda like the overall feel of Ace Combat better. Maybe I'm just used to the former. But what to do, this is the only thing available for the 360 for now. Hopefully my impression of the game will improve as I get deeper into the missions.
