OMG.

This thread got dumped at 8th page?

Last post on 17/06/2006?

I'm speechless. Maybe mysterious, thought provoking anime series don't appeal to most of the forumers here.

Oh well, since it's already like this i just wanna tell that this series just ended recently and the reason why i dig back this thread from Hinamizawa Dump Site is just to offer spoilers/explanations for those who watched the anime until end yet still very blur blur about the whole thing.

For anyone seeking THE WHOLE TRUCKLOAD WORTH OF INFORMATION ABOUT HIGURASHI, feel free to dig through animesuki.com forum under Higurashi sub-forum.

Anyone who wanted to know some specific stuffs concerning this series but unwilling to get themselves information overload from the above forum feel free to ask me here. I'll try my best to give my answers based on my newfound knowledge gotten from there.

Who is Oyashiro-sama? Hu Hu Hu.........

I was rather dissapointed to be frank..
I was predicting something that has a reasonable theory, storyline and so on.
Means, no time traveling/reversing, no Oyashiro-sama curse or something like that >_>
And the ending is telling us this is nothing but just unreasonable/Can't be explained by reality(unless you can repeat the same shits again like what Rika did).
So it was something that make them gone mad/crazy/oyashiro mode eh?
The berserk Keichi on the 1st part of the anime..lol
There is actually no needle in the rice ball, and the syringe isn't true cuz that is actually just a marker pen, so yeah, Keichi was cursed/infected by some sort of parasite.

By your post i'm unsure if you already know everything that you need to know about Higurashi or you only depended on the anime. Obviously i don't feel like explaining everything to someone who already knew it.

Assuming you're the anime-only person, i can simply said the supernatural aspect of Higurashi is NOT the main point for the incidents that happened in Hinamizawa. The supernatural aspect only there to justify why they're 6 resets in the anime (and 8 in the game). That's all. And maybe a little bit of here and there which might change a bit of the story but still DO NOT affect the final outcome of any particular arc.

The MAIN POINT for Hinamizawa tragedies always lies on logical aspect. The different of behaviours, decisions, events which determined the ending for poor old Hinamizawa town. But, what the gamers/anime viewers saw are not always the truth. For example Arc 1. We totally follow the stories behind the eyes of Maebara Keiichi. By simple observation we all knew how unstable Keiichi minds in that arc. So it's hard to determine which are the truth and which are delusions.

BTW, to make things easier for me & the would-be-questioner, i prefer if direct questions are asked to me specifically of you want spoilers. Any other type of ambiguous posts will be treated as merely discussions.

NVM, i can understand your sentiments as an anime-watcher only. No need to feel sorry for it. The anime is an inferior and a flawed product as compared to the Sound Novel. That's why i'm glad to help ppl to understand more about Higurashi in this forum.

Although i'm even happier if one's willing to help themselves into animesuki forum. The mysteries of Hinamizawa are really well thought out and entertaining in brain teasing way yet too many details, depth, and especially EMOTIONS had been left out in the anime. Yes, if the anime follows the Sound Novel truthfully, it will be mysterious, horror AND ALSO emotions roller-coster rides type of anime.

As a bonus for higurashi fans:

http://hinamizawa.e-n-m.net/releases

As for comparative ranking:

Sound Novel>Drama CD>>Manga>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Anime.

Enuff said. The manga do captures the essence of Higurashi way better than the anime counterpart.

Kei was supposed to be a really cool character, except in arc. 1 where he was doomed to f*ck'd everything up. He's really an interesting, cool & "magician-of-words" character in the rest of the arcs. But what happened in the anime? They give Kira's seiyuu to voice Keiichi (yes, Kira from anime that starts with "Gun" and end with "SEED") and our kewl main male character turned this anime into "EMO-KIRAshi No Naku Koro Ni" which really screwed up his character potrayal for anime viewers.

Ask anime viewers which character they like the least. Majority will vote Kei"EMO-KIRA"chi for what he was potrayed in the anime. Ask gamers & others who knows Higurashi past what the anime had to offer them, who is their favourite No.1 character and majority will answer.......................Keiichi. What a total difference of results.

Yes, this is one of the big flaws in the anime which i didn't expect to rant about it in this post.

BTW, to understand what's behind the "Magician-Of-Words", feel free to download Tatarigoroshi manga and read it. Better yet, compared the the Tatarigoroshi of the anime. Sigh.

I've downloaded a few mangas of it but sadly, it's all raw and I can't read japanese.
Also I found the artwork of the manga is very great..(hell lots better than anime, IMO).
So I'm not wrong of thinking that voice of Keiichi was weird lol. (yeah I just feel that the voice of KIRAish isn't suit Keichi right)

Well..
It's got nothing to do with us sweat.gif
What we are trying to compare is the personality of Keichi in the Anime and Manga/Sound novel.
I've read few of the manga and Keichi shows his personality is pretty cool and calm, unlike the Keichi in anime, as if he just had a hysteric.

Just to clarify something, the above manga link is for the english translated version.

Anyway, once more i'm promoting for everyone to go download the manga esp. Tatarigoroshi hen and then read it. In the 4 chapters alone we were presented with TWO moments when "Magician-Of-Words" at works there. Feels like watching like two totally different characters right? The anime showed NONE of it. In the game, Kei did use this l33t technique while talking about the topic of "moe" which stunned and left the whole classroom speechless. Too bad i only saw the raw for that scene so i can't understand it but there were LOTS of text lines. I'm really really interested on the content of his "moe speech".

Anyway no need to say whether "Kei > Rena" or "Rena > Kei". "Kei x Rena" FTW!!!
They're the puuurfect Higurashi couple, kana kana?

Their "Heaven Or Hell" AKA "The Proposal" scene in Tsumihoroboshi hen was epic.

......

......

Atleast when you "cheat" and play the game BGM for the rooftop scene while watching that scene the anime. Yeah, that's super cool.

Ohh....Alright..>_>
Btw the maggots is disgusting sweat.gif
But, I think the parasite is there...
Since I've heard there is some sort of factor that makes Hinamizawan can't leave the village or something.

IMO, The "Oyashiro-sama no tatari" isn't really a myth curse but just the parasite/weather in Hinamizawa, that's why they said once Hinamizawan, Forever Hinamizawan.
