bad news..

i was with a night cycling convoy in my housing area last wednesday and bicycle light ran out of battery. went pass a plantation area with total darkness and ended up in a pool of mud.

no major damage on my bicycle but unfortunately water went into my phone which i kept it in a pouch.

only realize it after i reach home after seeing mist at each corner of the lcd. few hours later back camera also filled with mist and a layer of water stain covered the lower right of the lcd and the stain ended up filling almost half of the right side lcd.

next day realize that the camera led not working.

still able to use the phone lcd slowly dying off after 2 days. i saw the entire process of the lcd dying off where it starts to flicker and filled with vertical lines. the vertical lines slowly fade off and screen went entirely blank.

could not manage to revive it and unable to erase data even with hard reset using the 3 buttons. though with my screen blank, i know that data is not erased because i hear new email tone after phone restarts via hard reset.

apparently hard resetting using 3 buttons do not erase data is quite a common issue after went tru several forums.

fortunately, i remember the erase data function in windowsphone.com and finally manage to erase my phone.

sent my phone to nokia centre in amcorp mall this morning and eager to wait for the technician to update me the status.

Phone kena water, turn it off, put in rice for one week.

i did that on the same night. but the "stain" looks permanent to me.

now i can only wait for Nokia to get me back whether my phone can be repaired.

according to the customer service, water immersed is still covered by warranty as long as there's no hardware failure or crack of LCD.

can only hope for the best else LCD replacement costs around 650 plus 50 labour fee.

Cycle until masuk lubang, first time i hear things like this happen. For me, my friend was particpating a marathon run, then it rained heavy. He got all wet - along with his new 1 week old phone that costs 2 week. Phone goes straight to ICU  rclxub.gif

was cycling on the road but have to go pass a plantation area to reach the other side of garden where it is a rocky terrain with full of grasses. the plantation area is in total darkness as it was a night ride and we have to cycle across a narrow path where both sides are poll of mud.

it used to be dry but recently been pouring quite often. so the terrain is kinda wet and muddy.

didn't realize that i have reached the particular spot as we dont cycle very close to avoid crashing each other.

you will know what i mean if you experience mountain biking yourself. smile.gif

Phone got water inside of it and you still kept it on? #epicfail rclxub.gif

i only switched it off and left it in a bag of rice for the night. following day switched on and realize it's not helping at all and decided to send for replacement anyway.

didn't expect phone to die before i can even get to deliver to nokia centre.
