Spotify is coming to Malaysia soon. They're in the testing phase right now.

If you're using Maxis they'll only throttle you after you reach 2GB but won't charge you extra. Not sure about the rest though.

Anyone try out the Samsung Ativs S yet? I'm surprised at how good it is. Camera I think is comparable to ip5. Real damn good shots + the faux aluminium build feels real premium even though it's plastic. It reminds me of my old Nokia E51. Dunno whether to go for this or L920 now, but my mom wants me to get ipong or some sort of android.

Me scared lor after reading all the reports of hardware issues with L920. I might get Ativ S instead. At least I know Samsung service like boss

Nokia overheat issue really scare me off bro. I don't want faulty product. Only reason I buy Asus laptop is because of the damn good service + quality (top along with Toshiba) along with good specs at cheaper price. The 2 year free warranty helps too If Nokia can give me Asus-like quality and service, then sure no hal. But Samsung is offering me no hardware problems (overheat) right out of the box. I look at Nokia salespeople already want to cry. Unfortunately local Nokia and overseas Nokia like heaven and earth difference... '

This is worse than Apple vs Samsung, it's outright theft. Copying a design is one thing. You can't steal hardware from other people and expect to escape epic lawsuits that you'll definitely lose. It's a damn carbon copy that probably works exactly the same. Maybe Nokia will finally make profits (as a result of this lawsuit) soon

But damn that HTC's motherboard looks so serabut. Is this really a flagship smartphone?

The Mahkota Parade display Lumia 920 unit also has issues. That's what, 2/3 of the official retailers in Melaka now? One of them didn't even notice their display unit was f***ed for weeks until I reported it to the Nokia Malaysia's fb. They then swapped it around with a new red unit since the yellow one was probably "gone" already. 3 main buttons worked but the other areas of the touchscreen were totally unresponsive even after a soft reset.

Only good thing I can see is that they have plenty of those cc1043 cases lying around.

Nah I get that there's gonna be some "damage" if so many users handle it. But my issue with Nokia is the fact that none of them noticed or ignored it for nearly a month until I reported it to their facebook page. It was only after that they replaced the faulty display unit. Only one display unit for their flagship unit in one of the major locations in Melaka, and it doesn't even work. People won't realize how awesome the L920 is if they cannot test it out.

Streamyx has a wp8 app? O_o Knowing the quality of local brands, there's probably a bug in the app that causes the crash.

Lol. I'm actually waiting for the announcement in the hopes that L920 prices will drop to ~1200-1300. The latest and greatest flagship will easily cost 2k+ when it's fully released so it's not really worth picking it over an iPhone unless it's gotten a major hardware upgrade. As it is I heard there's only minimal changes, though with a probable aluminium build.

Does that mean your data is off most of the time (2G only)? I'm trying to find a bag of tricks to prolong my battery life later I hate the fact that my old nokia can last a week if I don't use it for music and yet smartphones die every day.

You first time smartphone issit? Datswai dunno turn off data when not using issit? Even iPhone 5 has major battery drain issues if you leave it on all the time. If you want decent battery life then turn it off when you're not using it.

Edit: Oh right, there's something I've always wanted to ask but never got around to doing. How well does your Lumia work with public wifi in comparison to other smartphones? I've heard about the wifi channel 11 Windows Phone issue so I was wondering whether most public wifi (Coffee Bean, Starbucks, McD, Mamak) work with it or not. I'd hate to have to rely on data all the time, even on campus (anyone here from MMU Melaka?).

It could actually be his "public" email since I doubt he'd respond to every single one of them, which is mostly handled by one of his secretaries. I think all the "real" email addresses are kept internally and are only divulged to industry contacts to avoid information overload/spam.

It depends on your needs. If you just need it for messaging/calls/some surfing then L720 is good enough. I think I read somewhere that Nokia's profit margins are a lot smaller than they should have been because they had to spend a lot of money on replacement shitty hardware (I think it was from WPcentral). That's why I'm waiting for the L925 and the user reviews instead of getting the 920. There's like a 10% chance of me getting a faulty unit and I don't wanna drop RM1700 on that chance since Nokia Malaysia's service sucks big time. I don't think their first and second shipment stocks (the bad ones) are sold out yet due to lack of sales in Malaysia so that's why I'm not gonna buy it.
