Wired has obtained a copy of a cease and desist letter Google issued to Microsoft today, demanding Microsoft immediately remove the YouTube app from its Windows Phone Store and disable existing copies on consumers’ devices by May 22.
Google is turning into the old Microsoft will all kinds of dirty tricks up its sleeve, i dont want to support their products anymore if possible, and i have boycotted Youtube for years already. I still hold a grudge towards their action of deleting Miku songs and fanmade stuff under "copyright" claim, and they screwed with many of my home made videos which had a little music inside (not even a full track). Unless my friend show my something, i havent voluntarily opened Youtube for as long as i can remember. I also abandoned my gmail and 2 android phones, using Yahoo and Outlook/hotmail. As for my android tab which is a gift from someone, i will get rid of it once windows 8 8 inch tabs become widely available.
Probably the only Google stuff im using now is their search engine, Blogger and the Chrome browser, nothing else. I will export my blog out to a different host once i have my own credit card; will host it on my own and purchase premium subscription.
Im a Maxis prepaid user; only on occasions i but 100MB data for RM2 (per day) when i need to use it. Somehow the constant search for signal is really eating into the battery...
daemmmm.....after reading your post i'm become more mad to maxis...
Does that mean your data is off most of the time (2G only)? I'm trying to find a bag of tricks to prolong my battery life later I hate the fact that my old nokia can last a week if I don't use it for music and yet smartphones die every day.
Eh... how can you actually compare an old nokia that can last a week with smartphones of today?
Want to get your L920 to last long? Easy, disable data, force 2G, off everything u do not use like bluetooth, wifi, NFC until u need to use it. Will easilly last you 2 to 3 days like that, but not a week.

Err, u r mistaken LOL Maxis is still my favorite. 100MB each day for RM 2 - that means that 100MB is for you to use within 24 hrs you purchase it. You can also buy 1Gb for RM 8 and it lasts a week, so, theoretically if you buy everyweek, you get 4Gb for RM 32 monthly. Not a bad deal at all. I prefer to use my laptop all times (and i make very few calls), i usually take calls and use SMS more, so i dont need a full data plan that involves calls and sms up to a certain maximum limit. I dont even use that much. My phone is 70% a music player and a point and shoot camera to me and only 30% for calls, messages and internet.

My NFC and Bluetooth is 24/7 on, makes not much difference to battery life. Even i switch it off maybe my battery life increase by 1 hour only. It's the data that is the problem.

I agree & I have NFC on also 24/7. It was just an eg to him on an extreme case of power savings if he wanted to try

Dammnit, I just start to fall in love with YouTube apps.
What is the alternative that provide stable as well as Download features?
Both Metrotube and Tube Pro have the Download function bro?
Yes both have Download funtion. Metrotube is worth it to me. You can always download & try, I think Metrotube have trial version. The last time I used Tube Pro it worked OK but since I bought Metrotube, I used that only. Until MS released the new Youtube app, have been using that instead now.

Ahh yes I forgot, we can download the Trial first before purchase. Yes will personally try both before deciding to purchase or not MetroTube. Thanks bro for the info!
Another question, how will Microsoft remove the YouTube app? By deactivating the function automatically, or when user somehow updating the apps? Still can't grasp these whole concept of smartphone since I still stuck in Nokia N-series

No prob bro.
Microsoft was asked to do 2 things actually. 1st is remove the app from store which means no more users can download it, update it or reinstall it if you accidentally deleted it from your phone. 2nd thing asked was to deactivate the app that have been downloaded & installed on user phones. This is know as the 'kill switch', which means MS actually has the ability to disable an app you already downloaded & installed on your phone to keep you from using it. You can read more about this here --> Google to Microsoft: Remove your YouTube App from the Windows Phone Store

I'm very lazy to charge lah. Sometimes I forget and my phone dies in class. I need something that can last at least 1 day+

This is where i find the wireless charging stand a great help to me; when i dun use the phone i leave it on the charging stand (i dun have t plug in cable, which is something i lazy to do). This also kills my habit of often leaving my things somewhere, forget about ut, and then later having trouble looking for it. It now a habit for me to leave my phone on the charging stand no matter how much battery it has left.
I still need to remind myself where i leave my hostel room and car keys sometimes though.
