Don't compare like this u wont get any results ~ coz the $$ different really is immaterial, go for a test drive let ur feel tell u whether 1.3 or 1.6 ~ coz the feel totally different

bigger number means more high maintenance

before owning current car, i buy a used jap car with 2198cc, kononnya jap car even used car one, it still good. more goodier than new proton. that time im very langsi mahu berlagak pakai kereta jepun. then i used and abuse the car. in the end, i sell it because cannot stand with its maintenance and road tax. then i bought my current car brand new

about its maintenance, cannot see how deep i want to maintain as my car still not 1 year old and just 12k km. still servicing follow service table. between 1.3 and 1.6, servicing is not much different, only if (let say) engine piston give me problem, then i will start headache. 1.6 piston not same with 1.3 and of course judging from its cc numbering 1.6 will cost more. other than that no need to think about it. both variant all use same

but come think about modding your 1.3. change rim, put leather seat etc etc. if you overspend and make calculation after you mod, you will be surprise it may be expensive than 1.6 SE althought 1.6 SE is the most highend variant (leather seat and steering, 15 inch rim, bodykit, dual airbags, abs and ebd etc)

but its up to u as buyer. choice is yours

there are many aftermarket for saga outside. every acc shop sure find one. but in here, most of thing advertise here is not called 'aftermarket'. its called 'poison'. ask other members here. tons of poison sure emerge once you ask for only one poison. e.g. garybenjamin's ride very the smooth. then find out he has gc, ericteoh vs and fs. his car looks stock but its engine has been juiced ady

for 1.3 variant, what i know is compulsory all fitted with driver's airbags. if not mistaken, exec variant has abs. 1.6 got all

i've tried my sis, 1.3 cvt basic. smooth ride as it use cvt gb. good pickup too. but comparing with mine, moer power interm of speed and pickup. yes... the power of 1.6. but only letdown for both is lagging issue. its throtle respon is laggy due to saga use drive-by-wire rathern than drive-by-steel cable. but this laggy issue can be solved by put the respective poison into my car

my 2 cent comment

be very cautious that some SC may void ur warranty even when u change rims. can say u change rims damage ur wheel here and there, and anything that is related.
if can afford why not get the 1.6 for the extra goodies?
instead of modding the 1.3 which will void ur warranty lah.
also if u ask me, as time pass by, when u actually need more juice out of the car, u will not regret buying the 1.6.
and the 1.6 with 15'' wheel is more stable.
just some of my recommendation. it is recommended to tahan itchy 2 years before u even start thinking about modding anything.

all car do have the policy that does not allow u to mod the car. if everyone is modding the car and somehow it does damage to the car and went back to them to claim warranty, then car manufacturer will eat dust edi.
however it really depends on the SC u go to. Some SC give no care on what u do to the car.
some SC a bit minor thing that is not logical also can say void warranty.
Also note that, if they happen to intend to void ur warranty, please pray that there is no major thing happen to ur car like what ckdenion car. if that time he modded the car, he sure kaulat.

Dun know how true is it, but people say car manufacturer give their best at their best variant even in the workmanship. which I personally suggest taking the 1.6SE.
u will appreciate the extra power and stability one day when u can't get the same from the 1.3.
ps: it doesnt mean that if u cannot afford then u go force urself to buy the 1.6 lah. later u buy liao come no money eat dun come find me. Bcoz I always suggest that if u can afford, go for better one.

Same amount of EO, same amount of spark plug, same amount of CVT fluid, same amount of brake fluid, same amount of airbags, same amount of steering fluid etc. etc.

The only thing more expensive are the tires.

15'' tyre more expensive than 14''.
other things are the same.
they say the price of the car will fall, but not sure how much. and it will be progressively not immediately. it might not affect much on ur purchase but the price will fall when u buy at the end of the year. 1.6SE might sold out too. And u never know who will win the GE. if the car price increase after someone win, then is a waste of not buying now. lets gamble on luck XD

I rather DIY. those SC want them to solve here rattling, they dunno do what then nearby rattling but there no rattling. haiz.
U will spend more on petrol when u put 15'' on ur 1.3.
dun care about who win and whether how much they cut price.
if they cut price and follow other country, they remove subsidy for petrol, insurance premium high, this and that increase.
if everything low, then good.
not sure about the price.

take the 1.6 lah. with the good looks, comfort car, nice handling, stable, bigger engine.
edi got 15'' by default and if u dun want stock, 1.6SE stock rims can fetch better price also.

i kasi racun in detail, what 1.6 have
- when shoot and stay static at 2krpm, u feel car very eager to speed up from 0 to 70kmh
- cornering on 80kmh even on synergy m5 (factory fitted)
- all leather, so u wont think how to wash it
- all flx meter panel color in white with red jarum and konfirm u envy it much. but in 1.6, the last speed indicates 220kmh 
- 15 inch with 50 profile donut. no need bother to change rim unless u dun like its design
- full lips and skirt, even not match body color (if u got photoshop, try match with body color, look more awful)
- aux & usb on HU (other flx variant owner, please confirm u guys get this or not)

what i not like
- no mudguard. one handful of debris, sand or small chip rock gathered in rear wheel well. more terrible after run on mud 
- IINM, max inch to put rim is 15. bigger than than still ok but afraid it will knock fender. saga wheel well are small
- some minor problem. typical proton prob but can proton can solved. no worries
- wiper after 2 3 month sudah kaput. wiper no warranty so buy outside
- im glad i buy metallic. if  buy solid color, means u put extra care. i wont explain here. ask around esp. reapers. he's kaki MERZ
- stock tyre is the cheapest, greenest and useless (silverstone synergy m5) as what other member claim. but im not. 
- no engine cover. until now im still afraid to wash engine bay

what 1.6 dun have

Proton's solid white is proned to discolor (turn into yellow), unless you rajin wax it or coat it. Last time my 6 months old white gaga compare to new white gaga, the difference quite noticable.
