The speed was like below 50 km/h
So, there is car infront, i let go my right foot, then can feel the engine pull back.. something it downshift.. make the car not smooth

I like the power of the engine. Hu hu.. very nice..
But interior wise, focus is better tongue.gif
Price wise, peugeot is cheaper too tongue.gif
*
The pulling you said is due to downshift of gears. The engine now slows car down. This is a safety effect. You will feel this more on the Pug than Focus cos the Pug engine is more powerful.

Bro barkutt3h also. Any idea of launch date?

This new model seems to a winner for Peugeot, selling very well in Europe. I'm a little skeptical on very high reliance on electronics. Will our SC be able to handle issues??? Are local service personal adequately trained???

I am still keen on this car,but only if I can find independent specialist!

Wow.... So delicious.... Is this the exact car that we will getting in malaysia??
*
Yes this the exact car. Europe got various engine options. We will get the proven and reliable 163THP. I would like the 1.6 turbo diesel, don't think we'll see this in Malaysia, too pricey.

Nasa achieved positive test results on Hybrid turbo diesels on Malaysian diesel fuel. Nasa is planning to offer this engine options on Pugs, not sure if 308 is on the list.

If they bring in 2.0Hdi that will be good. Full spec with pricing below Altis/civic/mazda 2.0cc, then it can definitely boost their sales.
*
Ooooou that one is sweeeet la bro! BlueHDi engine putting out 370nm. Sadly I don't think we'll see this in Malaysia. It will definitely cost more than Altis/Civic. Maybe around $160K

U mean 163Thp.... Is equal to 163bhp and not 156bhp like existing 308t?? Do u have any spec sheet?
*
That's right, 163hp. The T indicates it's turbo engine. All 1.6 turbo petrol engines on Pug/Citroen sedans now are this 163THP. All the bugs on Prince engine has been fix and this engine is proving very reliable.

The old 308 GT was selling at 160k. Hehe.
That's why wish 2.0hdi non GT can be selling at that price. :-)
*
I may be wrong, but I think the 308GT did not sell well. So I doubt if Nasa will go that road. Even the 1.6 turbo petrol 308 will sell at 130K. Perhaps Nasa will see how well this car sells here, then decide is the BlueHDi is worth bringing here!

I too very keen on the BlueHDi, but 160K, will have to think twice. Well out of my budget! We'll most likely see hybrid turbo diesel engines. I believe tax intensives make this engine an attractive option.

Ohhh i see.... coz quite sometimes ady i didn't follow Peugeot updates... last that i keep on updating my head database was 156Thp on 308 and 508... Phewwww.... my memory outdated ady  laugh.gif

Now when pug upgrade the power to 163thp sure very interesting  thumbup.gif anyway.... back to model 408, 5008 etc that power to 163thp... if new 308 still using this same engine that power 163thp, why they didn't upgrade the engine as well? 163thp seem outdated i think  hmm.gif
*
Europe has a few engine options for the new 308. My favorite is the Blue HDi, 2 liter turbo diesel,150hp 370nm. Unfortunately we'll not see this here in Malaysia. Due to tax, this will be too pricey for the average Malaysian. We are stuck with 163THP!

Anyway this prince carries 8 mods which has sorted out all the previous bugs. This engine with the 6spd Aisin GB has become a very reliable combo.

I think if Nasa can price around 120K, it;s going to sell like hot cakes. What it offers is years ahead of any rival.

What about my current 308T?
*
If your is 140THP engine, then no value la. If 156THP, 6spd gb, still can sell. Most problems on original Prince has been solved. Price may be low,my advice still sell.

The new 308 will come with 163THP. All bugs on Prince has been solved and this engine has proved reliable. Ask any 408t owner,1st Pug to be fitted with 163THP,no engine complaints. Mine coming up to 3 years, still healthy roar from my Lion! Same response from owners at 408 club.

True, with horrendous KL/PJ traffic! But i'll be very surprised if auto gb is left out.

Broken Turbo Intake
Broken Water Intake
Changed Aircon Coil and Sensor Box
Broken Ignition Coil
High FC (Previous About 8.6km/l...now 6.2km/l)
Noisy Rear Hatch/Boot
Change battery 4 times oledi....now using top range Bosch S5
Underpowered now (probably Carbon built up)

same here, bro. I've been surveying through car ad sites for peugeot 308...
when i saw the prices for these used car out there, i have mixed feelings about it.

happy bcoz the price is low, but worried bcoz the price is too low to be true...  biggrin.gif

Y2009/2010: RM 35-45k
Y2011: RM 40-50k
Y2012: RM 50k++

5/6 years old car costs less than 50% of its value - something's not right. sad.gif
*
Yes that's about the value for 308s. The reason is the car has a lot of electronics, and after 5 years some of the electronics need to be changed. Btw all modern cars are filled with electronics. 5 years +/-, is the general life span, no matter which brand, including Merc!

If you like the car, go for it.Go for the 6sp gb. These have re tuned engine with less issues. DO NOT take it to Peugeot SC to fix anything! DO NOT buy any spare parts from Naza/Nassim ( Authorised Peugeot Dealers ). People often do this and come away paying hefty bills and then claim Peugeot maintenance is high. That is the main reason the 2nd hand value of Peugeot is low.

1. Source around for Peugeot independent workshops. There are a few now in the Klang Valley.
2. Buy spares from spare part shops. There are a few in the Klang Valley.

Last of all, you must understand, this is Peugeot, which means she'll need special attention, and she'll run fine. If you are not prepared for this, then I suggest get a Perodua and it will be a work horse. But what a dull life it will be!

Went to my workshop to do service and noticed quite a few 308s with turbo charger kiongkan already. That costs a bomb I heard.
*
Cost a bomb at Naza. Less than RM2K if you buy online, including postage. Btw, any car, turbo will cost a bomb at authorized dealers.

Any idea if the upcoming 408 (maybe next year in 2016) will have the same engine, transmission, features and the same interior and leather seats etc. as the current 308?
*
From what I've researched the facelift 408 will come with EP6FDTM, 165hp/240nm,15hp higher than the facelift308.These are Euro 6 engines with better fc and emission standards. But of course with our dirty fuel we may not get full benefits of this engine.

GB is updated, still 6spd. Aisin GB is silky smooth but looses on performance to a dual clutch. The consolation is high reliability. Interior will have the 308touch screen.

My Preface-lift 408t is 163hp. I've take it up to 200kph. The speed rise is leaner and car is stable. I suppose the facelift 308 will also perform the same. Although hp may a bit less than mine but the car is 140kgs lighter.

If you are into sporty driving than get the 308gti. 208hp/300+nm

had it almost a year, great ride. not the best fc...full tank half city/half highway abt 500-550km.

Had an issue with the fan relay and it got replaced with warranty in two days.

The car both models already come with reverse camera. Not sure abt navigation whether its a unit they give you or its programmed in the touchscreen

Is your engine ep6cdtm or ep6fdtm?

What is difference?
Previous Prince engines suffered heavily on premature carbon build up & other issues. Ep6cdtm was introduced with 8 modifications, addressing all reliability issues. Ep6fdtm has further refinements to improve fc & emissions standards.

Hi Plan to get 308 thp 2016. New car. Is it worth it? Done my research on the maintenance part which is very annoying. Is there anymore reasons to not go for this car? Many thanks

Me too..hope to see some comment..

As both of you are interested in this car let me give my views. I own a 408thp, which has similar engine. This my 6th year & enjoyed the car very much. Although a sedan, it has exceptional handling & good power. 308 being a hatchback should be even more fun to drive!

However, no car is perfect. There will always be some issue. Present version of Prince engines are reliable, unlike the older ones which were problematic. I have had small issues and all were successfully fixed by SC warranty. SC are now more familiar with Pugs & do a reasonable job. There are now many Peugeot workshops in Kling Valley for after warranty. Spare parts are reasonable from spare part shops. However you must be prepared for slightly higher maintenance cost on long run due to high performance engine. This is the same on all contis.

Hi all. I spent like 3k+ to replace valve n valve cover etc in Sept. They sd hv to change bcz of oil leakage. Now replaced but still leaking and hv like burnt smell. Checked down the engine (during tyre alignment) surface was covered by Oil stain. What should I do besides complain kat service center (which I'm going to do this weekend) Which sc u guys go to? I always go to this Jalan 222 PJ there and seems to have a lot of problems. Help! Thanks!!
*
Valve cover cost only $600 from Peugeot spare part shop. Labour charges are about $100. But you can just buy the 0 rings & gasket for around $250.

The leak is due to 0 rings getting brittle over time. If these 0 rings are not fitted properly, it will leak.
