QUOTE(37 Exposures @ Apr 10 2013, 10:35 AM) Why want to build MRT instead of LRT to increase the cost of construction? Not necessary to do that.. Yeah, i think that is not much difference for the construction cost compare in between LRT and MRT.....unless they goes underground, which i don't think is possible and feasible to have underground MRT/LRT project in cyberjaya.... |

QUOTE(HELLO HELLO @ Apr 10 2013, 02:12 PM) We need MRT more than LRT. MRT higher Capacity compare to LRT. Wau, after 2020? in this case, since I was working in Pee Jay, then i think is a bit hard for me to travel from Cyberjaya to Pee Jay, as too tiring and quite jam LDP.... you can see almost everything from here: http://www.spad.gov.my/sites/default/files...110913-v1.0.pdf page 45 and page 46 mrt to cyberjaya/putrajaya is after 2020....still long long way to go. fyi, some people always try to compare the cost of MRT with bullet train..totally different thing...1 of the different is MRT need many many stations. bullet train need a few stations. example from penang to singapore in-between maybe only 4 to 5 stops/stations. |

QUOTE(37 Exposures @ Apr 10 2013, 05:34 PM) Personally think that next MRT project will be in Penang Island or JB instead of CBJ..these two places need MRT more than CBJ Yeah, in fact, i think MRT is more feasible to be implemented in Penang, instead of constructing Monorail in Penang, which is not feasible at all, due to a numbers of factors too.... |

QUOTE(accetera @ Apr 10 2013, 05:57 PM) MRT is needed... Malaysia is now regretting that it built the Kelana Jaya Line on a LRT instead of MRT. What to do bro? this is how our government working now...They are short-sighted and incapable, and yet, they will never admit for their mistake.....In the future traffic growth, KJ Line cannot be expanded anymore. Sad. Short sighted. Hope this time all Malaysians can use their rights to cast a better formation of government for the sake of Malaysian brilliant future.... |

QUOTE(newx @ Apr 10 2013, 08:50 PM) It make no sense to build MRT for a city with total population of less than 10k. What I mean is not to implement an independent MRT system solely for Cyberjaya and Putrajaya, only the madness will implement it....What I mean is if there is any possibility for the MRT line 3 to connect their last station to Serdang up tp Cyberjaya / Putrajaya, which I am personally think it is feasible to do so....Maybe such an idea will be proposed by the Pakatan Rakyat, given they are going to spend RM8billion to solve traffic issue in Penang. You will soon to understand that they can't govern this country any better. Vote wisely. For any government wish to develop Cyberjaya, the connectivity from CYberjaya to KL and PJ area is really important in order to boast up the surrounding area property value. It won't be necessary to have standalone MRT system just for Cyberjaya, but it is good to connect Cyberjaya through MRT line via Serdang / Puchong to other places, this is definitely feasible to do so if you refer to the MRT model in Singapore and MTR model in Hong Kong. However, this is just my 2 cents opinion.... |

QUOTE(accetera @ Apr 10 2013, 09:47 PM) As for Greater KL, MRT is definitely the way to go regardless who rules the Govt. As of now, SPAD is already focusing on MRT planning. Yeah, I do agreed in your opinion. Sometimes we have to be plan ahead for future. Perhaps when in 2020, more population in Cyberjaya, that time the government thought have a serious consideration to link MRT to cyberjaya, to promote usage of public transportation. Its a pain to implement now, but i think it is no harm to have a pre-planning for the future.Any lines more than 30km would have sufficient capacity required by a MRT system. Bear in mind, we can have 3 or 4 cars on a MRT before extending it further, but the idea is that the girder, the guideway, the stations and planning of infrastructure must be built for future. Similar problems we now encouter with KL Monorail where the extension is being done because the Monorail has reached overcapacity. But the extension is facing difficulties now. If it was me, the line could be a LRT in the first place if we foresaw the traffic today. LRT should be put as communal rail such as connecting Kelana Jaya to Bandar Utama and to Bandar Sri Damansara. OK maybe you can follow @Kampung on public transportation issues. Planning ahead is always cheaper than we plan in the future. |
