The black one is nice but i dont think its worth it.
For the same price id get the lowest config one and bump up to 2gb ram for Aperture. |

QUOTE(Mike3300 @ May 18 2006, 03:25 PM) Actually MacBook is a just similiar with iBook....it's just that it has Intel Core Duo processor, Front Row software and new design... It's about 8 times faster than my 1ghz iBook...that is not "just similar". It runs Microsoft Access and many many games too (via bootcamp) My humble iBook is still fine for wordprocessing/surfing/ viewing photos... just when it comes to photoediting... Depends what people are looking for i guess. A lady who only needs a computer to surf and type documents will probably feel no speed difference between my notebook and the (8x faster) Macbook. As Ethanius said, the slow speed of the PPC apples is bearable. I still get my pictures processed, and all my assignments done..all on 256mb of RAM. Applying USM + Levels Adjustment + etc took about 15min total for the photo below. ![]() This post has been edited by ezralimm: May 19 2006, 11:53 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

2gb costs RM1500.
1.25gb should be RM750 (non DDR. 256+1024) 512+512 DDR how much i wonder... (but wouldnt make much sense cuz youll have two spare 256 sticks. |

QUOTE(fly @ May 20 2006, 11:19 PM) I was thinking about getting a MacBook, and then I wavered a little on hearing about the heat problems. And then I come across this thread: the Macbook PRO suffered from that problem. It is made by Quanta.http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.php?t=295925 ![]() ![]() There is NO WAY I'll touching a MacBook with a 8 foot pole until Apple fixes this or at least provides a decent explanation. The Macbook is made by a different company.. "Asus", as you may have heard, is quite a big name in notebook manafacturing. |
