Hi guys,

I just bought a MacBook recently, and it was going good until recently... suddenly the battery charge drops tremendously... You guys experience this? It is still under warranty , how do I claim for warranty? I bought it over here in LYN, so was wondering where I can claim it, do I just walk in to any Apple shops?

You've got to provide more information as to what is meant by "charge drops tremedously".

There are many variables that affect battery performance: Percentage charge, usage details eg, brightness/disk activity/sound volume/CD use etc. All this would affect the rate of power use and therefore battery life. If you can't provide this information then nobody will be able to provide you with any useful advice.

In any case; the most likely scenario is that you need to recalibrate your battery monitoring parameters. See here:

Thanks guys. Well.. I have coconutbattery running currently on the MB Original Battery Capacity is at 5200mAh... As of now, it only says that it can contain 212mAh... rclxub.gif

Would calibrating it get meself back to its original state? I can't use the macbook without the charger now as it will say that it is using the reserve power... HELP! icon_question.gif

Additional info: Battery Loadcycle 24times... age 2 months.

Ok just did the battery calibrating thingy and didnt work. The Current full charge is at 191 mAh but the battery should take 5200mAh. Hmmm I wonder how this could happen.

I updated the SMC Firmware yesterday, just got back to KL today (was at Genting, dont really notice heat on Macbook up there), usually back in KL the CPU temps are high, 50-60 while browsing outside, but today its just around 30-35. Not sure if its because of the update, but looking good..

Yup same as mine... currently the CPU is at 25 -26 which is darn good rclxms.gif

BTW, I just sent me battery to the service center and they say they'll provide me a replacement within a week....
