macbook is good enough unless you are a pro video or photo editor. about the macbook ram, gmail..the macbook supports 2gb ram so you can have one stick of 1gb ram, correct me if i am wrong.

Yup. In that Increase RAM thread that someone started, a user reported that you can run a MBP with a 512MB and 1GB chip. It seems that the MBP isn't too picky with RAM. Thank goodness; the prices on the Apple store for an upgrade are insane.

So Macbook is more than enough for a college student??
Pro is quite pricey for us though.

Yeah, Macbook is like any other notebook, good specs and everything you need!

You should check out the new Sony VAIO notebook with Blu-Ray disc player... RM15k+, but still Windows XP(Vista Capable)

I rather buy RM10k Macbook Pro

It means that Macbook is Vista Capable? It runs via Boot Camp too.

my macbook go crazy, got problem, when i sleep it and when i wake it up, itz shutdown by itself, then if need to open back need to hold power button till itz click and funny noise... if i shut down it, itz okay, but only happened when i sleep it... at 1st i thought because of the ram, i change to 2g but the cheap one i bought at lowyat... then i change back the original 256x2 ram, but the problem still there... so i need to go to apple center tomorrow for them to check the problem, any of u have the same problem???

Common signs off problems for every Macbook... send to Service Center, they'll replace your MAC straight.

mike3300, vista has been macbook capable, just that some were worried if or not it runs aero (all the eye-candy vista has to offer). from what these sites say, it can. but let's wait for the final thing to be released. also hope there will be a rev b of the macbooks soon.

civic89, you can try missing sync or there are other softwares to do so.

1zr4el, i mean upgrading the firmware for the macbook, not upgrading the software, i.e. 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 is upgrading the software.

Try searching the apple support site. but if your macbook had random shut downs, take it to a apple centre, you should get a new replacement, apparently it is a logic board problem.

I'm thinking of getting a MB/MBP mainly because of bootcamp and the slick cool design biggrin.gif
My question is, how does bootcamp works? As far as I know there will be one harddisk. Do i have to partition it for windows to work?
Another thing, can I access OSX's files and folders from XP and vise versa?

Example : I saved a word document on OSX's desktop. Can I access it thru XP's desktop?

Thanks for answering that question. Another thing, I heard that the MBP comes bundled with a mouse. I also heard that the mouse has ony one button. How is that going to work with Windows which requires two buttons?

Also, has anyone tried out the Remote for MBP yet? How good is it? Do you even use it often?

Edit in regard to the post below : Fine then~ how bout MBP?
