NAND looks like it's going to remain quite expensive.  There was a figure on some tech site yesterday plotting the price of NAND flash in comparison to standard HDDs factoring in the current rate of change in price per gigabyte, change according to Moore's Law, and change according to some other law or other.  I can't seem to find it now, though.
*
I read some article, it stated that 32GB NAND is around USD350 doh.gif doh.gif

hi.
just got myself a macbook and i have a problem.
i cant transfer pics from it to my external hdd.
it says unable to create directory.

help?
*
make sure that partition is NOT NTFS. Mac osx can't write in that format, but you can use NTFS-3G+Tools to make mac osx to be able to write in NTFS. NTFS-3G+Tools just a beta anyway. The best solution is format your ext-hdd into fat32 format. wink.gif

no dvd burner for my laptop..
its a 2004 laptop..

kinda sayang but i have got to familiarize myself with mac osx...
so used to windows...

or u got desktop? or what? Move the your important data into your desktop hdd as temp. And format your ext hdd to fat32 then move it back. that's the only solution lo since you don't have dvd burner smile.gif

How much does 1 x 2gb 667 Mhz stick costs right now? I'm thinking of maxing up laptop to 4 gb.
*
cannot till 4Gb, anyway, it will only use up to 3.5Gb i think. Current laptop is only 32bit machine (althought C2D processor is 64bit).. unless you refer to "santa rosa" platform brows.gif

oh..mine is the black one.
so its 1gb..altho its the older spec.
120gb.
2.0ghz

if im not mistake lar..

i dont know whats bundled in the macbook.
i heard bootcamp?
havent gotten around to testing windows on it yet
*
for macbook, whether it's new or old version, it's still same-same.. Processor speed ain't that important for normal user. nod.gif

256mb or 512mb is the min spec for vista. My machine only 768mb ram, vista works smoothly. biggrin.gif I still prefer winxp thumbup.gif

Btw, you need to dl bootcamp from apple site. Well, you can try VMWARE fusion for virtual pc. Currently it's beta. Free for the beta (not like parallels, which got expire date eventhough it's still a beta software) icon_rolleyes.gif

I have a external harddisk for my window and i use with my macbook. but when i intend to open the content inside, i notice some folder automatic hide but not hide when i open in window. Do you guys know how to solve it? the file content in the folder is those xxx lol
*
first of all, which type of FileSystem your ex-hdd? I encounter such problem when that partition is NTFS. Some of my folders disappear, (btw it not XXX rolleyes.gif ). To solve it, i used ntfs-3g which can enable to write and read NTFS.

it is ntfs. how to use ntfs-3g? mind to tell? haha i thought apply automatic don let human watch xxx. sign

*
Download NTFS-3g.

First you need download MacFUSE Core, then install it. Then install the NTFS-3g. After that, reboot your system. Your system should detect your NTFS partition automatically by using ntfs-3g plugin. Now you can read and write.

PS: Sometimes you might encounter problem because NTFS-3g still in beta stage. It is based on linux system and then port to mac system.

I thought one should create a mount-point for the NTFS volume?
*
it got auto-mount script. I heard the latest version got many bugs. Btw i used the old version. And you require to fix the auto-mount script, else you end up can't write as well. sweat.gif

If you use 1.417 version, you need go to Systems/Library/Filesystems/ntfs-3g.fs/Contents/Resources/
-Find a file name ntfs-3g.mount and drag to your desktop
-Open the file with text editor
-Find this line
local OPTIONS="${OPTIONS}volname=${LABEL}"
-add replace it with this
local OPTIONS="${OPTIONS}default_permissions,volname=${LABEL}"
-Save it and drag back to the directory, and repair permission.
-Reboot your machine. It's done drool.gif

Maybe I'm using the bootcamp volume, I have to create a mount point for it. Anyway, thanks for the tips, will try that later.
*
hmm i don't think so. After all, bootcamp volume is still like any other partition, more or less the same. I know for the first time release ntfs-3g, you need create mount point for your own in order to work. Since few newer version release, there's got auto mount. Btw, creating mount point also pretty easy. Just unmount your ntfs, create a directory and use the ntfs-3g command biggrin.gif

Yes, you will need to pay to upgrade from Tiger to Leopard. It will be approx USD 179.
