It probably won't come installed but the procedure will be what darkcurse has said. Most likely a free upgrade.

@munky I am using tunnelblick with BolehVPN and it is working fine. Just in case you wanted to know about VPN on a Mac smile.gif

Malaysia is not like other countries which actually have Apple Store's instead of just Apple Certified Reseller's. This means one of two things, we don't have much stock since the shops are on their own and are not guaranteed a certain amount of units AND that the latest and greatest doesn't always get passed to us immediately. Generally it takes about 2 weeks when something is announced over in the US to the time it arrives here on our shores and we can actually buy it. And about 4 weeks before we can just walk into the store and get it off the shelf without pre-ordering. The thing is, if you do buy an MBP which has Tiger while over at US MBP's are already being pre-installed with Leopard, Apple will give you a free CPU upgrade pack. If you don't get one, demand one. That is standard procedure.

what is the time frame of this MBP purchase?
i mean, can i book a in sept and get it in oct and got the tiger version and demand a CD?

I'm not sure of the timeframe. But in the US its anywhere from 2 weeks before the new OS gets released to 2 days. Not very sure. Its safe to say that if when you get the physical machine in your hands and it comes with Tiger, while Leopard is already released you can ask for a CPU upgrade pack. Anything before that I can't answer with certainty.

@ifer: you may start to do the request once the Leopard OS is officially released.

Edit: I mean if you buy AFTER the OS is officially released and your machine is still holding Tiger.

How do you guys cool your MB's apart from cranking the fans to its maximum speed? I already did that. Whenever I play Age of Mythology for like 2 hours straight, the temp soars to 90 celcius and the game lags massively and I am forced to quit it. I tried raising the MB by putting a few books beneath it but cant seem to notice a difference in temps.

There is a better way to keep your notebook cool, build a cooler yourself! The housing is the tricky part, of what material you want to use, the fans are the interesting part, all the notebook coolers in the market are USB powered, low voltage fans, so what I did was bought those 12V fans and power it from a adapter. Those fans cost less than RM10 each, as well as the adapter, but you get very much cooling power!

Well if you like doing things yourself, you will love it, it's not necessary cheaper, depending on what material you want to use, but these fans are really good.

Can you please take a picture of it? I'm still not sure how it should look like. Never made anything before myself but there's always a first time. =)

Sorry I've been busy, will try to post some pics later. What I did was actually modify a Coolermaster with high power fans. There are others who tried other methods, there are a lot of recommendations here:-

Becareful though with MBs, quite a number of notebook coolers out there has a design that blocks the IR receiver port on the MB.
