there is something we can all do to prevent this.
if you're using android phone, high chance you have a google account, which allows you to use google+

google+ is a social app similar to FB, and its FREE, no registration required since you already have google account.
install it and use the "instant upload" feature, which like its name suggest, auto upload every picture you snap to a PRIVATE album which ONLY you alone can view.

Now i know the most common response people give when i tell them this feature.

so essentially, every night when you sleep and plug your charger, it will slowly upload your pics.
so you see, there really isn't any trouble at all, doesn't waste your 3G data plan, doesn't waste your battery life,
and its really easy to handle (download/edit/share) the uploaded pics in your google+ website.

hope this info helps. laugh.gif
next time when you see some noob complaining phone lost and begging the thief send them their pics back, point them to this thread.

Edit:
Instantly upload has been renamed to auto backup
For ios7, upload in background is possible.

the last time i checked fb photo sync, if i remembered correctly,
the limit is duno 2 or 3GB, and there isnt option to sync when connected to charger.

its important for me that it only sync when device is charging.
because i dont want my battery to drain very quickly.

G+ unlimited storage, and only sync when charging.

I use dropbox, and sync to my laptop automatically, so no issue for me.

I think the issue happened to those elder or supreme youngster who owned a hadphone but no PC, like I know most of the elder iphone user don't even know what is iTune and what it can do...

Last time I heard that gov going to implement (via telcos) imei blocking. I wish they proceed with it. Any stolen phone can block based on imei number. This I think will deter phone stealing coz it will render the phone totally useless.

Well auto backup should not be limit to photo only... SMS, WhatsAPP or any important folder can be backup easily on cloud...

As for me i use dropbox to backup my photo since i have pro storage... And i use FolderSync app to send my sms (backup using SMS Backup & Restore), WhatsApp and any critical folder to dropbox or google drive...

this one... means roughly a 3MP camera.

but i din realise its unlimited for this resolution. so many thanks to TS mtxx for sharing this...

does this mean if i select this, Google will resize my images to that size (for unlimited storage).

also, i think last week, Google updated Drive space to 15GB for all...
