It's time to give money to other side of coin. No harm doing that. It's fair. It's time to give development to the opposition people, state and Kroni. Only then this country will achieve equilibrium and stability

go watch movie and study how american politician funded their political career...especially when you just up n running n wanna fight for a position...u need to have a back up from a number of wealthy business men to fund millions of your campaign and political career...once u gain power u need to give them the business favor...so in essence anwar sama BN oso sama lah.....

i don't think so...but senang cerita if u as a wealthy businessmen...prolly worth million 10-20 mil?? but still u think urself not enough make money want to make 100mil++....if u find a potential up and coming politician...would you take the risk of funding him knowing if he lose u might not get a cent back but if he wins....your nett worth could multiply by ten fold? with future contracts and tender that you going to receive from your buddy? if it was me no harm in trying smile.gif

Like in any other country, there are big company to fund the campaign, which they will get something in return when the party they supported become the ruling government. Beside, Anwar has good relation with some tycoon in China, which believe it or not doesnt like the current ruling government, namely Robert Kuok.

i would tend to agree with flaming_lion. it's curious that a full-time politician (i.e. someone who got into politics straight from uni rather than say, a businessman who became a politician after he became rich) who is not from a wealthy family, can accumulate so much assets when theoretically he/she has only been earning 3-7k (+ a few k allowances + 15k something for a ministerial post) all his life. same goes with mahathir, taib, etc.

that being said, most politicians are like that.

normally politician got
1. sendiri punya/famili/proxy private kompeni sdn bhd for some project, related to his area/portfolio/work tat he fight for rakyat
2. seat on board some giant GLC as return favour for support , do nothing get salary big big
3. seat on council/mp/ajk/pkkpj/etc.... get salary but not much la compare 1&2
4. kompeni megah gabungan a few politician/faction/bigboss for some highlight project aka project gajah putih raksasa
5. some private komepni gilap kasut hope for help/favour, kasi seat big pay, either as konsultant la, penasihat la, chairman la..... some got berpuluh tis type of seat
6. upacara buka kedai upacara tiup lilin etc... function bodoh charity palsu....can get fee oso...
7. use their name as tarikan so normaly busines the run will laku, like pejabat guaman abc, konsultasi alam sekitar weeweewawa, pejabat kajian daun pokok se-malaya.....
8. as lead man to introduce foreigner entity into msia, like say get loan/buy land/build factory/settle law thingy..., usualy will get handsome pay as konsultant the money is big & super easi for those on top of power pyramid.
so politic especialy if u ruling in power, big money for u

visiting prof positions are non-permanent, usually for one term. if it's anything similar to oxford's visitng fellowship for mps, 2 mps come over each year and have occasional talks with students on certain topics. sometimes visiting fellows write papers (and if you have a phd and want to write a paper you can apply to be one at the uni), but mostly for politicians they come over and have a few talks. next term, it's someone else.

dont think they pay very highly for that.
