I am 3 months married now. Lately im getting worried coz my wife is still not showing any signs of pregnancy. I envy some of my friends coz their wife had signs already. Would be helpful if you guys can share which Clinic or Hospital around KL area which can perform a sperm count check. Which doctor is responsible would be an added info. How is the procedure? or you can just barge in the hospital and ask for a sperm check? Im new to this married life and pregnancy stuff. Really need serious help and tips here. Thanks very much. p/s: My cholesterol level is quite high (5.98)......i heard higher cholesterol level can affect sperm count. Is it true??

Stress can affect your sex life in ways you can't imagine.
Are you doing it the right way too? Is your wife aware of her fertile periods?

Havent consult with a specialist yet. There are a few ways to 'test' when the fertile period is. There are ovulation test kits sold, maybe can give it a try. Normally fertile period is 12-14th day but different people different, so might not be accurate also. One of the signs of ovulation is that her discharge will be different (more slimy) than usual. She may be able to spot the changes. For me, I sometimes get ovulation cramp on one side of the lower stomach in the middle of my cycle, combined with the fact that the discharge is way more than usual, I know I'm ovulating. Some women also basal body temperature, I have no experience in that so don't know how it works.

Hi,
No worries, bro... You just tried for 3 months, quite a short period.
I've tried for a year but still no sign yet. I'm going to have a sperm check as well. Google search a Sunfert International Fertility Centre in Sunway Medical Centre. Not sure good or not...

Getting yourself stressed up is definitely not going to be helpful. I think the first thing you need to do is to put away all the society & peers' expectations that your wife needs to get pregnant right away after wedding. I've seen a lot of people getting a baby when they least expect themselves to so you just gotta enjoy your married life for now.

My 2 cents here...
Enjoy your married life first and have kids after a few years later. No need to rush. Once you have kids, that will change your life, restrict things you can do, less flexible with your time etc. So, enjoy time with your new partner first.
Cheerio.

U must relax. Try goin for a full month exercise. Physical and mental health is greatly important. For the one month, go for routine joggings and gyms. Build ur body stamina. It is proven that a healthy person will produce high sperm count and healthier sperms. Healthy as in a fit body that can jog 2 hours non-stop. Take more vitamins to build up your body too. Try stopping any intercourse for 2 weeks prior to your wife's fertile season. It is proven to work.

Ouch... to be honest, both you & your spouse have a long way to go when it comes to fulfilling others' expectations. When your baby is out, expect a lot of people to give you their piece of mind & expecting you to follow their advices. Get yourself destressed. You won't be able to help your spouse much unless you free yourself from these invisible chains.

Latest price as of today. Report will be ready withing 3-4days. at Metro IVF Klang it will cost RM120 and the report can be collected the very next day.

Can try ask your wife to test "HYSTEROSALPHYNGOGRAM" at any hospital, basically they inject some liquid to check is your wife fertility tube (for sperm to swim over) is alright or not.

Sorry for this question. For this semen count in the hospital, is it like in the movies where you seat in the room and they let you do your job... QUOTE(narc88 @ Oct 8 2013, 10:29 AM) I heard my friend say RM120? I think im gonna try too.. hehe

Still early times, don't worry so much.
Anyway, I've been to alpha fertility center in Kota Damansara a few times, and once to Sunway medical center hq. Better make an appointment before going, as the doctors don't just see men for fertility issues.
They'll probably do a short interview on your health habits, have you collect a sperm sample and you can return in 1-2 hours for consultation. If your results aren't good, you can expect to be put on supplement program which isn't cheap. Test and consultation alone can cost 200+ and similar amount for the supplements.
Started trying for kid seriously about 2-3 years back which didn't work for a while and we discovered I had fertility issues. Since then I've had 2 rounds of supplements given, and by the 4th test I had the green light to go without them. Expecting my first kid anytime now..
If you're tight on finances, you can opt instead for pharmacy supplements e.g. Blackmore's bioace plus, or any antioxidant-rich supplements. Watch for ingredients like selenium and zinc.
Don't fret, it'll take time usually!
