not really recommended for you to get 17" laptops as they are very expensive. however, you can take a look at these models:

Illegear RE-17, i5-3210M + Nvidia GTX660M + (1920x1080)@RM3499, 4GB, 500(5400rpm), FreeDOS [CPU Options: i5-3210M - i7-3840XM
Lenovo Ideapad G780, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M + (1600x900)@RM2299[3.0kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm); W7HP

prices are RSP and negotiable.
Acer V3-571G-736b8G1T, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT730M(DDR3) + (1920x1080 IPS) @RM2899[2.6kg], 8GB, 1TB, W8

no other laptops can compete with this acer's screen, as it comes with full HD IPS display. price is RSP and negotiable.

Y500 is recommended if you want full HD. someone is selling single graphics card option with lenovo local warranty with the price of RM28xx at the garage sales section.

for lighter weight laptops, you might like the lenovo Z500 but the screen is not full HD though.
*
actually i a bit blur on the full HD and not full hd. just the normal screen right? if without full hd i think almost same spec right for the z500 and y500. which type u recommend for me?

i mean if don't take the full hd in consideration. smile.gif plan to buy something that is last longer and tahan smile.gif thank raymond

full HD native resolution is 1920x1080, while normal HD is 1280x720. laptops nowadays are fitted with 1366x768 HD screen.

if you really want gaming, then the Y500 is a better choice. if you want something lightweight, then it will be Z500.
*
not really in gaming purpose for the laptop as i having desktop as well. this is usually use for easy paper working and some light game.

in term pro and con. i see that z500 less problem then y500? like overheating? and for the warranty, lenova support oversea warranty like UK?

overheating will be greater in Z500 as it is thinner compared to Y500. lenovo supports international warranty, but still the T&C applies. read this for more info about IWS.
*
then probably will go for Y500. anything else that is similar with Y500 or anything budget range around 2600 which i can refer too?

Nothing come close to Y500 in terms of raw power for its price biggrin.gif
If you only has RM2.6k, look at the 14" Y400 instead.
Y400, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M@RM2799, 4GB, 500GB, W8, 120wPSU, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty

bro want to ask

Lenovo Y400 5937-7760 – 14” / i7-3630 / 4G / 500GB / GT750M 2GB / DOS / 2yWr: RM2380/-
Lenovo Z580 – 15.6” / i7-3612QM / 4GB / 500GB / GT640M 2G / DOS : RM2170/-

i browse through that z580 using quar core while y400 is using dual core? hmm why the price is different with it? i mean y400 more expensive then z580. recommend Y400

btw want to ask if i looking for dell or acer? any machine recommended? smile.gif

Dell
Vostro 5460, i5-3337U + Nvidia GT630M + (32GB mSATA SSD + 500GB(5400rpm))@RM2199[1.54kg], 4GB, W8SL, 3 cell

HP
Envy4-1204TX, i5-3337U + AMD HD8750M + 32GB mSATA +500GB(5400rpm)@RM2399[Beats][1.75kg], 2GB, W8
Envy4-1238TX, i5-3337U + AMD HD8750M@RM2099[Beats][1.75kg], 2GB, 500GB(5400rpm), W8

Lenovo
Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty

Envy 4 line up has been quite a while, HP update the specs from time to time.
If you go for HP, I suggest you take the 1238TX, then swap out the HDD for a SSD (128G ~ RM300+/-). Give you much better user experience vs the 1204TX stock spec.

Z400 is quite new. But it is not an ultrabook, even it is thin. The i5 M CPU plus the small battery won't give you good battery performance.

If you go for the Dell, extend warranty to 3 years on site (~ RM250).

If you intend to game on any of these models, make sure you get good external cooling solution (eg. cooling pad, table fan ...).

Prices are RSP, negotiable.
