the asus you saw isnt a quad core i7, it is an ULV dual core i7. ULV core i7 never had quad cores.

usage assignments/movies: girl user (engineering course will run some HYSYS simulation etc etc)
screen size: not so large not so small.
others: comes with windows (not freeDOS since she does not know much on pc stuff)

guys, need a bit of help here:

usage: net, lots of excel stuff
screen size: 15. must be full hd.
others: multitouch touchpad. ultrabook if possible.

Budget: RM3000 MAX (not going to top up anymore)
Usage: 3D rendering, animation and heavy graphic works
Preferred laptop/screen size: 14.0,15,15.6 ...
Prefer Nvidia graphic card.. heard that Nvidia card is better for graphic works, is this true?
If possible, light-weight.. not too heavy can dy.. notworthy.gif
and another thing I'm worrying is overheat problem, cuz usually I'll be using the laptop for hours continuously..

for my usage most ppl will recomend pc but im not looking into PC for now cuz PC is not mobile smile.gif

true that nvidia graphics cards are good for graphical works. for light weight options, you can take a look at lenovo z400 as the weight for this laptop is around 2kg only. if you worry about overheating, then you can get core i5 option. core i7 will idle at 55-60C which is quite hot. prices are RSP and negotiable. smile.gif

i would suggest the dell, since it uses ULV processor and switchable graphics card which helps to save battery life and last longer up to 6 hours. also, use the remaining budget to extend the warranty to 3 years for the piece of mind. prices are RSP and negotiable. icon_rolleyes.gif smile.gif

the ASUS will be a better deal but it is quite heavy, it is weighted 2kg. so IMO, the HP envy 4 will be a better deal. but why dont you choose lenovo? lenovo has international warranty, especially the Z400.

Any recomandation for ultra book?? any brand
budget is less than rm3k.
And usage is for uni life. class.microsoft word and some basic surfing.
Screen size at least 12 inch to 16inch.
Window 8 touch screen

hp envy, only thing dont have backlit keyboard...haha...well minor issue..
