Thx a lot bro. Suprised that i can get prompt reply in here smile.gif

i'll be going to lowyat tomorrow. I think i'll take a look at these 3 models tomorrow. need to test it first

all are good suggestion dunno which one to take. dell powerful & plenty of features/nice specs. While lenovo is quite cheap & have some space for upgrade. And finally acer which is my favourite brand for almost 8 years already (3 acer laptops, no big prob so far)

hope will not be outsmarted by the promoters tomorrow. hahaha. thx again bro flex.gif

be reminded that these are 15" laptops. however, the G580 hass an exception cuz it doesnt comes with windows. if you can find better deals at lowyat tomorrow for G580, and make sure it comes with windows. icon_rolleyes.gif

good luck with your laptop hunting tomorrow.

yes i noticed that. 15" is better for my parents. suggested to them for desktop/tablet for lower cost & better spec but they still insist for a laptop. i'll get the best for them

thx bro. u r good in this. fast n precise. i got headache already studying over 30 laptops to decide which is the best value for money. some have this some not. not any one of it has a full package (good cpu, gpu, spk, led screen, usb 3.0, ssd, ram, extra feature, etc) in 2k budget

some reasons getting a laptop is because there are more apps than mobile apps. some more, you can get your work simplified with laptop.

actually, i only suggest based on customer service and specs only. so i dont think im so good. smile.gif

@raymond why no one recommending Acer Aspire V5-551? I actually just bought it and using it. It's quite awesome and fits in all the stuff i need including light gaming like dota2 and LOL.

RM1650 all in.. inclusive additional upgrade to 4gb ram.

Notebook: Acer Aspire V5-551 (Aspire V5 Series)
Processor: AMD A-Series A8-4555M
Graphics Adapter: AMD Radeon HD 7600G
Display: 15.6 inch, 16:9, 1366x768 pixels, glossy: yes
Weight: 2.2kg

and its really slim as compared to my latitude E5430

Hi guys,

I need your help in recommending which laptop I should get.

1) Lenovo y400
2) lenovo z400
3) dell inspiron 14R-SE

I can't decide between them. Feedbacks are greatly appreciated. I've read about lenovo's touchpad and heat issues but I would like to hear further. Is it worth to switch to Dell 14R-SE? I've also read other issues about Dell 14R-SE and I know no laptop is perfect. Hence I'm writing this to seek for your help.

Any other laptops that you guys would recommend? I'm open to hearing it.

Cheers smile.gif

1. Lenovo Y400 is good for gaming performance. so far, the touchpad and heat issue isnt going to bring it down. the speakers are average quality.
2. Lenovo Z400 is good for med-high gaming and it is lighter. there are minimal heat issues on this laptop due to its size. viewing angles and speaker quality arent good.
3. Dell Inspiron 14R SE is good for med-high gaming and has excellent warranty support. the speakers are premium and good quality. but only the design is ugly.

Hurm... m17x would be way beyond my budget ady.. Considering that im doing light stuff this would suit the purpose. Oh yeah. What about the power consumption for these laptops? i realize the power consumption used by these processors are much lower as compared to my i5 rig.
