Need suggestion to decide between this laptop
lenovo z500 or toshiba satellite u940
did compare the price almost the same and u940 got 32gb ssd+640gb sata compare to z500 1tb sata hdd
really confusing to choose or is there any other laptop within the same range of price and performance that u guys can recommend..

been eyeing on lenovo y400 for its gt650 graphic card, but the stores I went don't have stock (and promoting other models instead). one model, an acer i think, is using gt730 so im not sure if its good.

Y400, i7-3630QM + Nvidia GT750M@RM2499, 4GB, 500GB, FreeDOS, 120wPSU, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty
Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty

Budget: As low as possible
Usage: Uni life, slight gaming(Assassin creed, Dota 2 & Dragon Nest)

Here are some questions that i hope pros to give advice:
1. Is it worth the $ to get i7?
2. I'm planning to replace the HDD with SSD but i don't have any idea on which brand i should get and can this perform by the reseller? (computer geek here )
3. If i were to get the Y400, is it possible for me to install W8 myself? Would i encounter any problem by doing so?

Brand : Any
Budget : 2.5k to 3.5k
Screen : Any
OS : Free Dos if possible
Use for : gaming ( I do not play FPS game because I will faint ) and entertainment (video, music)
Other requirement : silent when boosts CPU/GPU, good thermal solution, SSD ( annoying in waiting comp to boot up ), as light as possible ( around 2 to 3 kg is okay )

Because I am thinking to replaced it with my currently desktop, which mean in home I will connect it to LED monitor, therefore I am not bother about the screen size. I am thinking is it worth to buy a notebook or desktop, because I wish to use notebook at outside frequently.

Im considering should get the Y400(freedos RM2.4K) or Y500(RM2.9K).  Windows is not the matters, just the size and price.
