Hey guys, can you all help me search some decent lappy?
Price = below RM1500, limited budget :/
Brand = Dell or lenovo maybe. Or other optional Brand (Definitely no Acer, since my ACER just exploded yesterday.. It TRAUMATIC exp for me..)
Purpose = Uni purpose, Slight gaming (MMORPG'S). Not slight.. I am a heavy mmorpg's fans..  tongue.gif
Others = Screen 15". Good gaming graphic.
Optional = Touchscreen, decent and smooth operating keyboard, good battery life, good protability.

Hi everyone, I wanted to get a laptop, but so far I've tried testing around a few, and I realised that the most important feature i'd want would be a matte/anti-glare screen, but most of the laptops in the market are glossy screen ones.

Does anyone know what are the cheapest laptops with matte screens? Other than the Dell Vostro series?

Thanks a lot!

1. Preferred Brand - Any
2. Budget - Below 2k if possible
3. Usage - 80% surf net, 20% DOTA type games
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 15.6"

other than business type laptops, consumer line laptops are mostly glossy screen. sweat.gif unless you can find a matte screen layer for such laptop. anyhow, some suggestions :

Lenovo Ideapad G580, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT630M@RM1699, 2GB, 500GB, freeDOS, 1 yr warranty
Dell Inspiron 15, i5-3337U + AMD HD7670M@RM1849[2.25kg], Win8SL, 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm)

1. Preferred Brand Asus or lenovo
2. Budget Around RM2K. I can top up to maximum RM2.5K but prefer to be around RM2K.
3. Usage Internet; programming like photoshop, videos editing, matlab; entertainment like musics and movies; uni/work purposes like words, excel, powerpoint; gaming like dota, simcity, left 4 dead
4. Preferred laptop/screen size 13" to 14"
5. Addition information I am currently studying in Singapore. So I would need extended international warranty if possible as I would not be able to go back to Malaysia frequently. I would need a laptop recommendation that sort of fits with my current situation. smile.gif

Where would the better place to buy - lowyat or asus certified sellers?

I am also considering to get macbook pro 13" as the probability of me gaming is very low - probably like once a year. So would it be better to get a macbook pro 13" instead of an asus or lenovo laptop?

Thanks! smile.gif

Ah, I see. Thanks a lot though for the recommendations, I'll check those out and see, maybe if they're not so reflective I'd give it a shot then.

Thanks again! notworthy.gif

1. Preferred Brand : As long as not DELL
2. Budget : 2K, 2.5K max but prefer to upgrade the RAM and extend warranty so around 2k is nice.
3. Usage : Basically for my job, more into using Microsoft Office.Words,Excel,Power Point and etc. Moderate gaming like Dota2, FM13.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14 inch,

If I want to extend warranty and upgrade the RAM usually how much it will take?

Surface RT will be released this thursday if im not wrong. for Pro, not sure about it.

you shouldnt worry as windows RT and windows 8 are just the same. windows RT is specially designed to run on ARM devices, while windows 8 is designed to run on x86 x64 processors. also be noted that surface rt and pro is not a netbook, it is a hybrid tablet/laptop. and yes, RT may be more sucker compared to windows 8.

sorry for my mistake. here you go for the differences between Windows RT and Windows 8
