ThinkPads are more towards business usage, so the specs are usually not as good as those from multimedia/consumer lines ThinkPads are not really meant for gaming as well haha..
Still, they are of better quality when compared to the Ideapad line
The G series is not as powerful as the Y500 in SLI mode though, pretty good machine with 2 years warranty (but do take not of Asus Malaysia's lousy warranty support).. Its priced at RM4k.
For around that price you can also opt for an Illegear RS-15
