First of all, I was a customer for more than 2 years. If any of you heard of or seen this name, these games are hosted by the company itself:
• FIFA Online 2
• SuperStar Live
• FairyLand 2
• Granado Espada
• Counter-Strike Online
• Dragonica(discontinued)
• 新仙剑Online
• 新古龙Online

The reason why I created this thread is to inform existing customers that IAHGames doesn't honor consumer rights. The company lacks proper responses on how to handle concurrent issues as well as inquiries, leaving many players frustrated.

For my case, it is pertaining to Counter-Strike Online.

Somewhere on September 25th 2012, a mass outbreak of compromised accounts started to happen. Apparently, this was started by a player that was disgruntled with the lack of attention from the customer service team when his account got compromised. To avenge for his unfortunate event, he and some friends hacked many of the players' accounts, including me and a Game Master(GM). You can read the full story by clicking here. Take note that you've to either register or login to view the thread. Here are the photos to prove the events of him admitting of the his wrongdoings:

How were the login details stolen? SQL injection. Since the forum account was linked to in-game accounts, hackers exploiting the forum script managed to sniff out the passwords. As a result, a majority of the victims had their passwords changed and lost their cash points. This chaos lasted for more than a week and the forum has to be shut down for maintenance.

Once things were up and running again, I decided to request for a compensation for the amount I lost(RM40 worth of cash points) on the January 7th 2013. The only active IAHGames staff that I've been and could only contact with informed me that the developer(Nexon from South Korea) would look into this matter. I doubted this since it was due to IAHGames' negligence but I still followed up on the matter from time to time. :

In the midst of this, many of my friends and disheartened players left the forums and quitted playing the game due to the incident. They didn't trust the company after what happened to them.

On April 3rd 2013, I had it with the hold up and decided to bring this matter up once again to him. And lo and behold, he replied that the victims will not be compensated. Instead, I was told that the company had more things to do. And they are most probably events and giveaways as usual to bring in more customers.

It was the last straw when a copycat was selected as a winner for the April Fools storytelling event. I informed the admin about this and he said the management was fine with copy pasting and stated that the thread never mentioning anything against plagiarism, as long as the management likes the story. After the event, he immediately edited the thread that future events will not tolerate such dishonest acts. Since he's an admin, posts edited will not be shown any time stamp of last edit. If you were a contestant, how would you feel? Ripped off, I'm sure:

Second statement contradicts the first one.

Here is the CSO SEA Facebook, look at the post regarding the contestant named HiKary. Everything laid out in black and white.

Invasion of privacy, loss of virtual currency and the attempt to receive the compensation denied was a major blow for me and my friends. To add it up, dishonesty and covert acts from the company staff itself.

Before this, I've sent tickets to the Customer Service department, no response. I PMed the only available staff on Facebook only to have the question dodged and excuses given in return.

I've friends that went to their headquarters located in Singapore, but they were all sent back, being assured that the team would do their best to solve the problems. However, they were never resolved. A friend of mine never got his account back which was banned for many months despite sending in numerous tickets with ownership evidences up to this day.

I attempted to report to CASE, but its strictly for Singaporean citizens.

CONCLUSION: Therefore to those reading this thread, be careful of such company that doesn't do much to protect consumers' rights. Do not be taken for a ride!

Its Nexon(South Korea), they won't be entertaining such matters just like that.

Did you try contacting their GM's? Might as well let them of the situation or just post the link of this thread to every single one of them.

Yes, the person I was in contact with is a GM and a server admin, so he has some authorities there.

The other GMs are "inactive" and seldom respond to complaints. Even if they're busy with events or updates, they have to be prudent when it comes to handling customers, by at least responding to tickets and in-game messaging.

Oh well , services alike Asiasoft but at least they do reply but action are taken very slowly and that is why I tend to stay away from "Online/MMO" games , with their cash related stuff especially Sudden Attack , slap on a new skin and sell it to the gullible players. When that wasn't enough , in order to get a real Sniper , you'll have to spend cash when the specific Sniper is available in points in other regions..

Sorry for the rant , but that was my experience for 3 years when i decided to stop supporting them. Thanks for letting us know though! smile.gif

We can't blame their business model since that's the main point of freemium games, they solely earn money from them. Flip side is, a wide array of contents compared to the ones offered by a one-time fee game(exception of TF2 but they also have the similar model).

No worries, good to have your feedback there.

Go police station open a report. This will probably speed things up

The only problem is if i'm not wrong, IAHGames is a SG company and i don't know how far the extent of the police report can help you

Filing a police report will not help much, because they will look at the loss as a small amount(for an individual), unless there's a group reporting together(not possible, different locations). Plus due to different laws between the countries, the outcome may do more harm than good. My purpose is to warn other players and potential customers about what I've encountered. I know that claiming what I lost may seem nigh impossible, but at least I will not keep mum as a victim.

Events, competition and alike are usually fixed internally. Thats why I seldom join any of them knowing that someone would have been selected winner even before the competition started.

Even MNC company also fix the annual dinner lucky draw for the employee but pretend it is a real lucky draw just to keep everyone anxious and excited. But I already know who would be winning even before they announce the draw.

The hackers only duplicated the items, not steal accounts or anything else?

You're fortunate that what you did didn't get you caught. As much as I would like to do the same thing seeing that all hope is lost, I'll hold on to my accounts in case of any lawsuits.

Because you didn't stay back long enough to witness the whole incidents. My first post explains pretty much everything about the company itself. If you view the forum thread I posted above, you will be surprised at how many of the victims got their accounts snatched from them repeatedly despite changing passwords.

Unless you sold it without posting it on the forums or their Facebook page, they will just ban that account.

The hacker I mentioned, had nothing to worry because that company didn't even pursue him despite that fella been involved in the attack. He was lucky to escape with an account ban, and the company eventually lost interest in him.

Did you report the case to them when it happened? If you did, its too bad its not just from one game anymore.

Although I've played MS(Asiasoft) before, I've not encountered any bad experiences with it.

Since Nexon leases the license of their own games to different publishers across globe, I don't buy that they show partiality towards one or a few, because each one brings revenue to Nexon.

I'll give you a real life example. When I visited the CSO Indonesia forums, I noticed that the GMs would respond via email if players request for their own stats(how long they've been online) and mind you, they've a way larger community there. Meanwhile on IAHGames side, I was told that Nexon wouldn't give a damn about similar requests from local players. Not sure whether Nexon or IAHGames are just plain lazy.

if memory serves me right, IAH forums have always been crappy and their insistance on tying the game login to forum is just.. well asking for trouble.

even back days when GE first started, there were already game accounts being hacked via the forums. i believe back then it was done with some javascripting. hacker would create a post which embeded the javascript and when unsuspecting ppl open it to read. bam! get hit by it already.

guess they never did learn after all these years doh.gif
