The reason why I created this thread is to inform existing customers that IAHGames doesn't honor consumer rights. The company lacks proper responses on how to handle concurrent issues as well as inquiries, leaving many players frustrated.
For my case, it is pertaining to Counter-Strike Online.
Somewhere on September 25th 2012, a mass outbreak of compromised accounts started to happen. Apparently, this was started by a player that was disgruntled with the lack of attention from the customer service team when his account got compromised. To avenge for his unfortunate event, he and some friends hacked many of the players' accounts, including me and a Game Master(GM). You can read the full story by clicking here. Take note that you've to either register or login to view the thread. Here are the photos to prove the events of him admitting of the his wrongdoings:
How were the login details stolen? SQL injection. Since the forum account was linked to in-game accounts, hackers exploiting the forum script managed to sniff out the passwords. As a result, a majority of the victims had their passwords changed and lost their cash points. This chaos lasted for more than a week and the forum has to be shut down for maintenance.
Once things were up and running again, I decided to request for a compensation for the amount I lost(RM40 worth of cash points) on the January 7th 2013. The only active IAHGames staff that I've been and could only contact with informed me that the developer(Nexon from South Korea) would look into this matter. I doubted this since it was due to IAHGames' negligence but I still followed up on the matter from time to time. :
In the midst of this, many of my friends and disheartened players left the forums and quitted playing the game due to the incident. They didn't trust the company after what happened to them.
On April 3rd 2013, I had it with the hold up and decided to bring this matter up once again to him. And lo and behold, he replied that the victims will not be compensated. Instead, I was told that the company had more things to do. And they are most probably events and giveaways as usual to bring in more customers.
It was the last straw when a copycat was selected as a winner for the April Fools storytelling event. I informed the admin about this and he said the management was fine with copy pasting and stated that the thread never mentioning anything against plagiarism, as long as the management likes the story. After the event, he immediately edited the thread that future events will not tolerate such dishonest acts. Since he's an admin, posts edited will not be shown any time stamp of last edit. If you were a contestant, how would you feel? Ripped off, I'm sure:
Second statement contradicts the first one.
Here is the CSO SEA Facebook, look at the post regarding the contestant named HiKary. Everything laid out in black and white.
Invasion of privacy, loss of virtual currency and the attempt to receive the compensation denied was a major blow for me and my friends. To add it up, dishonesty and covert acts from the company staff itself.
Before this, I've sent tickets to the Customer Service department, no response. I PMed the only available staff on Facebook only to have the question dodged and excuses given in return.
I've friends that went to their headquarters located in Singapore, but they were all sent back, being assured that the team would do their best to solve the problems. However, they were never resolved. A friend of mine never got his account back which was banned for many months despite sending in numerous tickets with ownership evidences up to this day.
I attempted to report to CASE, but its strictly for Singaporean citizens.
CONCLUSION: Therefore to those reading this thread, be careful of such company that doesn't do much to protect consumers' rights. Do not be taken for a ride!
