hi leanman

Well. I am not only who hit the jackpot. another member here miyoko28 having same unresolved issue and operated by same surgeon.

if I am not mistaken , new version for PRK is ASA.  Optimax charged same price for ASA and Lasik. except for relex >Rm6k. So price diff not due to PRK vs Lasik.

Your question why the price is so much diff????  Maybe someone here mind to answer?

hi sorry to hear about your complications.. can you remind us again which surgeon did you eyes?

anyone did lasik at Prof Dr Muhaya before? previously she was working at Prince Court Lasik Centre, now she opened her own clinic in Kajang.

heard very good reviews about Dr Muhaya, from friends.

So I'm thinking of either Dr Muhaya (lil bit far) or Optimax since its near to my place.

go see dr Ainur in ara damansara medical centre, he has the Belin/Ambrosio Enhanced Ectasia display in his corneal equipment which he can accurately tell u whether high or no risk for post op complication even before surgery.

He is very ethical doctor and thus he left the previous lasik centre due to pressure from that management forcing him to lasik every patient. I only recommend the best and if anyone has any doubt, please go ask eye doctors in PPUM / university hospital PJ about dr Ainur credentials.

@jialat , do you have any comments for Prof Dr Muhaya? Is she good?

I did my eye check for Lasik/Relex at Prof Muhaya Eye & Lasik Centre in April. Everything was ok, except for Dryness/Curvature of my eye.

Was informed that it should be 1.3 or below, but mine was 1.6 to 2.0.

So the doctor said to come back 1 mth's time to check again, in the meantime, put eyedrops (Systane-5 times a day & Artelac Splash-every hour) to improve the dryness.
So I recently went to check again, so far the dryness hasn't improved.

Any other things/eyedrop i should try to improve the dryness of my eyes?

So just wanna update, I've been to the clinic 2-3 times since May (most recent one was last week 16 Aug):

- Good news is : my eyes dryness are improving, closer to 1.3,
- bad news is : still above 1.3, so I cant do relex smile / lasik yet.

So I need to come back again in 1 mth's time to check again, this time will check and consult the doctor & will get cornea specialist advice.

Some of the options they told me if my eyes still not suitable for relex smile are:

1) Do PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)
2) Implant Contact Lens

Questions:
Anyone here done PRK before? Can share your experience ? Based on what I googled, apparently this is the safest procedure among all 3 (PRK, Lasik, Relex Smile)
- Is it painful?
- Do both eyes at the same time? or 1 by 1?

anyone know what is the difference between ilasik and normal lasik? Is it smile only available in optimax?

Relex Smile also offered in other places, if you happen to be from Kajang area, Prof Muhaya Eye & Lasik Centre is a good choice - http://www.pmelc.my/

they give you honest feedback on the suitability of your eyes for relex smile.

No bro, PRK is old school technology.

Custom lasik is the so called femto lasik done according to your corneal shape and prescription.

oh okay. my eyes going for follow up check up next week. if relex is suitable then do relex, if not most prolly PRK due to dry eyes.

Hi, i am wondering can i do the customised femto lasik at optimax ttdi as i have an irregular cornea and astigmatisms? Because i have already tested my eyes at vista and the doctor said that i have an irregular shaped cornea. So i was wondering if i am able to do it or not. If not what is the best surgery to do instead of this, because i read all the forums about the relex smile and they said that the relex smile hs negative effect on the eyes. Thank you very much.

check if ur suitable for PRK or ICL.
