Hi Xanavi,

I'm new to the forum.  Found this thread informative re lasers procedures for eyes.  May I know which clinic did you end up doing your eyes?  I'm also based at Kota Kinabalu, been out of space for a while so I only know the clinics at CP or SMC.  If you've done it, may I know what are your opinions or suggestions?

On a more general question, does Jialat's referral work with any Optimax around Malaysia.

Thanks very much biggrin.gif

Hi, I am from Kota Kinabalu and I did my Lasik treatment with Optimax @ Centre Point, Kota Kinabalu
I did it last friday (11th Oct 2013) and it cost RM2500.00 per eye. They call it "Custom Lasik Tissue Savings"
Dr. Sim did the operation and it went smoothly.

You will need to go for eye examination before hand. I did mine on the 1st of October and it cost RM195.00.
They put some drops to dilate the eyes and if you wear glasses, you won't be able to see/focus on anything
small in a short distance. For example, viewing sms on your phone. You have to take off your glasses to
view anything micro.

Also you need to stop wearing contact lens for a number of days before the eye examination.

If you want to know how is the lasik process? I have found some youtube's video available online that is
similar to what i went through.

On the first day, after Lasik.. my vision was hazy and my eyes felt minor discomfort but it went away
after 3 1/2 hours. I have to apply lubricant eye drops every 2 hours. You can put more in a shorter interval
if you want to.

Doctor's advice, close your eyes more to aid in healing.

You are given a bag of goodies for free, well not goodies.. but you need it for your eyes
In the bag:

1. Refresh Plus - Lubricant eye drops  (Brand: Allercan Eyecare)
2. TobraDex (Antibiotic) 4 times a day - (Brand: Alcon)
3. Refresh Tears - Lubricant eye drops <- To be used after finishing Refresh Plus (Brand: Allercan)
4. Eye shield + tape <- to protect your eyes when you sleep
5. Pain Medication - Ponstan (When necessary)

You will have to go back to see the doctor after the first day of treatment so the
doctor can take a look at your eyes.

It is currently my 3rd day after the treatment and my vision is improving over time.
Oh and You will also need sun glasses after the treatment.

Hi, i'm from KK too, just needed some info regarding payment. Did you settle the bill in one shot or they provide you with some payment plans? If you pay by using plan, i'm interested to know what are the rates like? Thanks pal.
