I'm interested to do Lasik. I have read through the last few pages, and found that the options are VISTA, Optimax and SJMC. Safety is my main concern, cost is not a big issue. Any recommendation? Anyone tried Tun Hussien Onn Eye Hospital?

Just to share my experience. Did my femto lasik at Optimax TTDI last Friday by Dr. Chua.
So far so good.
I was able to drive back for my 1st check up on Saturday. After checking by the optometrist, my vision is almost perfect able to read the smallest prints.
Till today still using eye drops (antibiotic and lubricant eye drops). Tomorrow will go for my second/ 1 week check up. So far night vision no problem and didn't feel any dry eye issue. Hopefully it stay like this.
Also like to thank Jialat for is opinion via PM.

Im just wondering, I have about 1100 and 1050 power on each eye with astig about 200-250, am i still suitable to do lasik?

I like doing activities like sky diving, scuba diving etc so everytime i need to wear contact lens for those and a little dangerous especially for scuba diving (in case the lens get washed away, I wont be able to see anymore) so i've been considering for quite a long time.

I was told that my cornea might not be enuf to do the surgery since my power is so high.

And after reading so much from 'Really Confuse' experience, makes me think twice if i want to risk my eyes....

High power is quite risky, since too much correction required. You might suffer from poor night vision after correction.
There are still other option like Ortho-K which is safer but not permanent, or ICL. Maybe you should check how thick is your cornea first.

I did my Femto-Lasik at Optimax TTDI HQ, because I believe they should have the best surgeon at HQ.
After PM with Jialat I choose Dr. Chua and I believe I made the right choice.
Very satisfy with my results, can't feel any night vision problem and dry eye. I stop using eye drop after third check up.

So Dr. Chua should be the best in Malaysia?

Is this Dr. Chua: http://www.optimax2u.com/prof-chua.php ?

Mine is Dr Chua Kay Leong. At HQ only Dr Stephen or Dr Chua Kay Leong perform Lasik. Like Jialat said Dr Chua is cornea specialist, so I feel safer with him. I can't say Dr Chua is the best, but he should be one of the best.

Do you think they would give referral bonus? Maybe a free eye check if I quote your name?
Okay thanks!

I am not so sure. Didn't refer anyone before. I believe Jialat should be able to help on this one. If not let me know. I will give them a call and check for you.

Thank you so much! I asked on the chat and they said I could get a 200 discount for FemtoLasik.

Mind sharing your experience in more details? When did you go for the surgery? How was the surgery? Are your eyes 20/20 now? What was it before?
*
Mine is very normal. Just go and do the eyes examination. Then they say I'm suitable to do Lasik just my eyes are a bit dry (4 sec dry eye test). My power is not that high, removal of cornea tissue is not much. My cornea thickness is 530/533 micron. My power is -1.75/-2.5.

I did the checking on 1st March then Lasik on 3rd or 4th week of March, can't remember clearly.
Before the surgery I did bring up the worry of night vision and dry eye. Dr Chua said if not much cornea tissue been removed then the night vision should be ok. Since the shape of the cornea doesn't change much. Dry eye is because of damage of nerve while making the flap and remove the cornea tissue. Low power should suffer less compare to high power.
During the surgery just stay calm, don't panic and don't move your eye ball around. Train to look straight. My case took around 10sec for the laser to reshaping my cornea. If higher power need longer. The guy after me need to stay still for almost 20sec. My conclusion is higher power higher risk.

Last check is 20/20 except my right eye still have a bit of Astigmatism. When wake up early morning my near vision was not very good. Need around 5 minutes to be able to read the smallest fonts of my hand phone. Recently getting better.

2 days ago, I went for my 4th check up. All perfect except left eye with a little bit of astigmatism. So far no need to use any eye drop. My surgeon is Dr. Chua.
