I have just done custom LASIK last Friday at advance vision, pj uptown.
Today is the 4th day after LASIK. My vision is no where near perfect. I heard that it takes for a week or more for the eyes to get used to controlling the cornea to get perfect vision.
Right now I can't even see the astro decoder digit clock 5 feet away clearly without double vision.
It would be nice for any of you share your post LASIK experience and the expected recovery period before you got near perfect vision.
Thanks.

2 weeks passed... right eye is getting better eventhough once in while with blur vision on times of the day. but my left eye is still getting double image still. as far as i can noticed, eye sight is getting better. perhaps -0.25 now... went for 1 week checkup at advanced vision. doctor said my age (38) will need longer time to recover and advised me not to stare at monitor too long. (i am an IT person) dry eye problem isnt an issue anymore as i dont feel as dry as before. well, i am hoping for the best.

if you're not ready for lasik and dont want to wear glasses... perhaps contact lens is your choice.

Hi guys... It has been almost 2 mths since I did my LASIK at advance vision.
Eyesight has increased significantly but vision under dark or dimmed light is still not as good as I was wearing glasses.
Few weeks ago dr yeoh told me to wait after 6 mths. Then will decide whether I need enhancement surgery or not.
So far so good... Dry eyes problem is nil when I don't look at computers. If I do, eyes easily get tired.
Anyway, I am happy overall. If I would have to decide again, LASIK it is.
Added on June 24, 2012, 1:12 amFor those who wanted to go for LASIK, make sure your vision is stable for at least a year or two.
Else you may just have to do lasik again after few years.

QUOTE(TzeThon @ Jun 27 2012, 07:06 PM) hi. what do you mean by "vision is stable"? i'm quite new in this area and am researching about LASIK. currently my power is around 750 to 850. meaning your power has not increased/decreased more than 5% for the last 1 or 2 years. Added on July 6, 2012, 9:55 amQUOTE(266K @ Jun 30 2012, 11:22 AM) Normally how much for 1st check to see suitability if go Vista? Anyone? vista's initial checkup is free. as far as i know the only one that charges you for initial checkup is optimax. This post has been edited by freddie: Jul 6 2012, 09:55 AM

uh? i went to vista to do that 1st check before. it was free.
do you mean the first check to see whether you're qualified for lasik?
or the more details check with eye drops and things?

QUOTE(jialat @ Jul 6 2012, 04:15 PM) the more detailed test, they charged. yup... all charges for the details test. but only optimax charged for the first qualifying test, though that can be credited to the bill if lasik is done there.

QUOTE(GloryKnight @ Aug 12 2012, 11:41 PM) My job requires me to stare at the comp. screen for long hours but I do stare away every half to one hour once and walk about. I still can see using my old specs (currently wearing and I am sure that my degree have increased). Im over 20 years old ady. Thx for the advice jialat! nick seems weird. lol sometimes age also matters. i am 38 now... my shortsight hadnt increase since i was 26. in fact the power dropped like 50 or so... i stare at computer screen between 5-9 hours a day with short break in between for the last 15 yrs. the professionals can check your eyes and compare to your glasses. no worry. but it is a bit hard to focus on the computer screen after lasik... i had to change the fonts to few points bigger. after a month or so i am ok now.

pain... i dont think so. but uncomfort... yes.
recovery depends on age. if you've been on glasses for many many years like me (almost 30 yrs) then it takes a while... up to 6 mths.
sometimes i still have this action of taking my glasses as if i am still wearing them... even after 5.5 mths.

QUOTE(nxtpg @ Sep 19 2013, 07:24 PM) really? the eye test charges will be refunded if lasik is done? on jan 2012, according to the lady from optimax which i've talked to on phone. the charges for eye test will be credited into lasik operation. if you decided not to do lasik with optimax, then the eye test charges is not refundable.
