I have a friend who has complained of having significant night vision deterioration post-lasik. Especially when driving on dark highway sudden changes in lighting (ie bright car headlamps after driving in darkness especially those HID lamps) can cause him to have serious glare and problem focusing.

He is however on the whole happy with the operation as previously his power was 600-700++.

Am considering but need to drive at night though.........

Yeah he also told me at night he have a "ghosting" or "halo" effect when looking at light.

Lets say, dark at night, then he look at streetlight (not very bright our usual orangey light) he will see a fuzzy ring or somesort around the light. I can't fully explain cos I've never seen it though.

But overall he seem to be happy with the results - so I guess is not something he cannot live with.

But if night vision is important to you or your job maybe best is talk to the doctor of course. To be on safe side you should consult more than 1 eye doctor (especially one that don't do LASIK).

Common sense right, if you want impartiality then should also ask from those not doing your surgery cos they have vested interest haha.

Does anyone know the cost of ASA? Any recommendations?
