QUOTE(lencent @ Dec 22 2012, 06:59 PM) guys, i went for lasik suitability check at Vista just now. The consultant told us (my gf and myself) that standard lasik is not suitable for us due to high power. Hence the process will take more than 60 seconds and normally the doctor will not approve the operation. She was saying that we both only can opt for the custom lasik which will be faster. Anyone encounter something similar? Any idea if this is the standard operation for all the other clinics? i really hope that i do not need to opt for the custom lasik as it is much more expensive on a side note, anyone know if Advance Vision and Centre for Sight offer custom lasik as well and how much does it cost? Regards. oh wo....whats ur power lencent? How much was for custom lasik? 10k?

But if u feel irritant/discomfort, apply the eyes drop tat doc give, and sleep throughout the day or sleep at least 4hours plus. Sleeping pill n painkiller is given.

Optimax has done quite a good job. For those with residual power, please go back for enhancement surgery to fully remove all refractive error. Thank you!

Just have my LASIK done this morning at advance vision. Sleep through the whole afternoon after taking the sleeping pill and wake up with clear vision. Both eyes still have some slight reddish spot but overall the discomfort feeling after surgery is gone. Can't really focus sharp image now but hopefully tomorrow everything will be better. I'm satisfied with the decision I made!

QUOTE(prozachigh @ Jan 9 2013, 04:05 AM) hello all, I am a medically trained doctor who's had LASIK done by Dr Chew at chew eye specialist in Ipoh - personally I would not go for optimax or the big chains because they don't really care about you - you are just a number to them and even if you are high risk they will do without telling you just to get the comission. My experience with Dr Chew was very good at Ipoh - he was very professional and has a technology which cuts the flap without a blade! I believe even optimax and vista doesn't even have that technology!! If you google him at HDLASIK chew eye, he is very worth it!! I now have perfect vision, no problems whatsoever. And he is very honest. My sister came along with me and wanted to do LASIK, but he advised against it as her cornea was thin and higher risk of complications, whereas optimax just asked my sister to do it without even telling her about it!!! I would highly recommend Dr Chew!!! FYI, vista is using all bladeless also may i know how much is your package? thanks! This post has been edited by lencent: Jan 9 2013, 10:42 AM

all lasik centres have bladeless technology nowadays, for all members info, the best lasik machine in Ipoh is in Lee Eye Centre, most of the eye department doctors know about this.
