Yes, Dr. Theng's clinic is located at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Sg. I just had lasik assessment with him on last Saturday. He assessed my case and told me confidently that my case is not challenging for him. I went together with a friend of high astig who was previously rejected by another doctor. Dr. Theng accepted his case but required him to do corneal collagen cross-linking treatment. My friend was a bit skeptical too but when Dr. Theng told him that his record so far has 100% success rate so my friend was convinced.

The total cost for my case is about $4300 including all pre and post check up and medication. Definitely more expensive than Malaysia but given him a reputable surgeon in Singapore I think this price is justifiable. Anyway, he is fully booked for this year. I have to wait until next January to perform the surgery.

I feel that the lasik assessment from this clinic is more professional than Optimax. Reason because they have specialist to handle different equipment and to collect different data and then doctor will perform final checkup and make the assessment. Whereas Optimax has one optometrist did everything and told me the result. Maybe that is just sale strategy but it definitely gives me more confidence. Just my own experience though.

the checkup in the hosp is not comprehensive. she just look into my eyes using that device for 2 test I think. and they also check for blood pressure!!! strange.

i can't remember the doc's name. it's in the 3rd floor same floor as their advanced lasek centre.

the cost is RM95 only, that because I also check my eyes power to make new glasses. if not the cost would be RM65 only.

for registration, will cost another RM15.

Optimax just called.

I need to go there to sign something, then they will refund my deposit but there will be some admin charges. dunno how much. RM499? hahaha

when I first called on Monday they did asked if I got any report. I say no report the doctor just told me verbally.

They just accept my cancellation without any report or anything. I guess they don't really strict on cancellation. If they make it hard, nobody want to go there.

I have a few good corneal specialists that are good at handling post lasik case, one in penang, one in UK now, one in government hospital (retiring soon).

If you need to see one urgently in klang valley, i can ask my friend to arrange a referral letter for u to see the senior corneal specialist in private medical center on weekends only.

Both my aunt and her husband went to Vista. Her case was successful, but as for his, it wasn't. In fact I see him squinting his eyes whenever he needs to read something. According to aunt's husband, even his colleague tried Vista due to friend's recommendation and both cases unluckily were unsuccessful. So...beware. Of course in the fine print of any Lasik centres, they will always say there is no absolute guarantee the procedure will work....but hearing about more than 1 unsuccessful case is bad enough for one single centre.

hi, KPJ centre for sight has a corneal specialist, Dr Choong yean yaw. He is always busy and doesn't really spend much time for patient. You can wait for more than half an hour to see him for 2-3 min only. U can seek his opinion on your post relex corneal problem.

The doctor who is doing relex smile for KPJ in KL was previously the same doctor from optimax.

Thanks jialat...i will update again after while use it....meanwhile i will make appointment with optimax soonest regard my issue.....   hopefully they can have solution on this.
i just sharing  through my experience on this since i discover you have similar condition with me, if you feel dilemma or doubt, consult with doctor again to make your final mind clear off.

P/s - i have using contact lens about 7 years before lasik,it still consider mild on the dryness level since i wearing 8-10 hours per day (5-6 days a week). After done my lasik, my dry eye getting worse than during i was wearing contact lens....

I don't think he went for another attempt. Just stick with glasses for now.

Just want to get some opinion from you all since some of you know about this stuff quite well. Yesterday my girlfriend went to optimax klang branch to do her eye examination for laser. The test result is okay according to them except that her dry eye test is only 3. Doctor request her to do ASA because the outcome for this will be better for dry eye patients.

So is it okay to go for ASA and will it have any other side effect? Since most of the post i read from here are doing custom femto and not much people discussing about ASA or it is in other terms which i am not familiar with..

Hi guys, need your opinion for my case

Two weeks ago, i went to do lasik surgery. The method i chose is customized femto lasik. Unfortunately, my surgery undergo some issue, the surgeon told me that i had incomplete flap, and so she decided to halt the operation and postpone my surgery (2-3months later until it fully recovered).

After google around, i think this is the issue im facing

Im having 600+ myopia for both side of my eyes  Should i give it a 2nd try or just give up? Worrying what will happen for cutting my eye twice.. From the conversation with the surgeon, she actually mentioned that there's no 100% guarantee the same shit won't happen again, hope to get some replies from those who faced the same issue b4, i wish im not alone...
