May i ask the epi-lasik is available o not at optimax kotakinabalu sabah ??

Hi ! I just went to Advance Vision last Saturday for check up to see whether I suitable for eye Lasik surgery.

Doctor told me that my Corneal is very sharp. So Im not suitable to do usual eye Lasik but ask me to do Lasek. The process is to put a ring on my Corneal, drop alcohol to 'scrub' my sharp Corneal. Then will put Laser and finally will put Contact Lens on my eyes. The Contact Lens will remove 3 days after surgery.

I quite worry cz my eyes are extraordinary and need special treatment like this.

Just want to know whether anyone here have go thru the process like me before? Or do u  all think I should seek 2nd opinion from other center?

The nurse explain to me the treatment call LASEK, the basic(usual) treatment called LASIK.

I very worry la~ it is Im so Odd? But the nurse told me that Im not 'special case' as other patient have the same problem too.... 

Yes, on that time the nurse didn't mention to me n just told me my eye condition require special procedure compare to normal eye lasik. Then my eye sight improvement also slower than the usual eye lasik.

I just called them, one of the consultant said Keratoconus that u mentioned is the eye sickness and he said he unable to answer me about the Cross-linking. He asked me to consult Dr Yeoh when I did my final checkup before surgery.

He some more told me don't over worry although my case is rear but one week they have 1 or 2 patients have the same condition like me.

My friend keep ask me to go for 2nd advises from other doctor. Perhaps I really should go for another one...

Bro, the discount of 500 = per eye 100(full payment ) +150(referral)? Is it correct?

If i pay by instalment, no discount applicable?

How bout the referral letter from jialat? Would it be applicable if i want to get all these discount together?

hey guys this friday i will be going to optimax ttdi for eye checkup and hopefully if they deem me suitable for lasik, im gonna do the surgery on the same day....the girl was saying to me that their package is sumthing like this....rm6000 using blade and rm8000 using laser/bladeless....but according to her i dunt need to go for laser so using blade will be fine for me....and it seems they are having a promotion now for christmas...so using blade is only rm4500 instead of rm6000....gosh feeling excited and nervous at the same time...just cant wait to get rid of my glasses...and also optimax gives a lifetime warranty where if ur power do increase they will do it again for free...the only thing is that i come for a normal eye checkup every year once for rm60

Jialat, questions from me, why does Optimax different centers have different prices like you said? Aren't they under one roof?

I cant find dr.yeoh name/profile in optimax profile..no more for JB? resigned?

and also blade or bladeless technology better? is it just different in pricing and safety issues since blade will involve manual hand work?

hey guys so i went to optimax ttdi and did my eye examination and it turns out that i have thin corneas...kinda sad to hear this since the opthamalogist said i cant go for the blade one....so the only two options i have is All Laser, Intra Lasik or advanced surface ablation (ASA)....even so by doing the All Laser, Intra Lasik surgery i wunt be able to get the warranty they offer for lifetime since according to Doctor Stephen my corneas arent gonna be thick enough to a 2nd or "touch up" surgery incase my power does come back maybe lets say in 10-20 years time....so he recommended me the 2nd option the ASA surgery...if i opt for this he said i will be entitled to the lifetime warranty and he will do it again if incase the power does come back...the all laser surgery involves creating a flap so there might be tissue damage...meanwhile the ASA does not involve creating a flap instead an epithelium layer will be peeled off and alcohol solution will be added and contact lenses will be put to aid in healing....the backdrop about this is that it takes about 3-4 weeks maybe 3 months to heal since the epithelium has to grow back from scratch while the all laser will only take 2-3 days to heal fully which im sure u all know...since i have an exam coming in jan i decided to postpose my decision until after my exams coz if i go for the ASA surgery i wunt be able to read and study for 3-4 weeks...what do you guys think...maybe i should ask the option of other clinics like vista or anything? and ya the cost for surgery is rm8000 both eyes using customized method..

I did my eye checking at optimax today...looks proffesional, and also the equipment look high tech..will do custom laser this friday, due to got scar in my left eye because of ulcer cornea. Hope everything going smoothly..tq jialat for reccomend me..

After 6 months from custom all laser lasik from optimax, went to check up yesterday~~ Everything is good and i was told that i still have a thick cornea during the check up~~ there is no more short-sightedness but abt 25 power for astigmatism in my left eye~~
Before lasik, right eye power 650 and left eye power 725 and 50 astigmatism
