you are 40s, then its not a good idea to do lasik. if you fully correct your distance, then u will need reading glasses also. U wont be spec free. ur eyes are getting more dry soon!
monovision sacrifice 3D vision, night driving will be tougher.

ask your optometrist to write u a guarantee letter, or reserve the right to sue that optometrist. ask them to write in black and white that your eyes wont be dry after 2 months.
as usual, they keep increasing the price.
no such thing as life time warranty, they will blame on your eyes when any problem arises.

I don't know about full correction, but it's not monovision. it will fix my short sightedness and astigmatism, but I still need reading glasses

40 is the time you would want to protect your eyes from getting disease. 50 is when you cant escape if u dont start taking care at 40!
Yes they earn from your annual eye check. Then when u want to claim warranty if your power comes back, u better make sure your cornea is still thick enough, otherwise they cant do much about it. They are waiting for you to develop eye disease and they can earn from treatment and surgery.

Your optometrist very powerful! Even the top eye specialist dares not to make this comment. But I understand your situation. If someone made such confident statement to me I would have paid the deposit as well.

just to share.. i have the same problem with u.. did eye examination at optimax ttdi, dry eye test is 3 seconds for both eyes.. and have a flat cornea.. but the optometrist said that i'm suitable for all type of lasik.. but i have doubt since the min requirement is 10 secs.. so decided to get a second opinion at another place.. the result still same suitable to do lasik.. but i'm still not satisfied with both results.. start googling more and have decided that better to not waste money.. dun wan to suffer from dry eyes and permanent halos/glares at night..

the annual check up is not free?

i m post patient for femto lasik, since i people here was discuss about dry eye issue, heres i going to  share mine.

i do my lasik on middle of January 2016, my condition was fulfil all the required for the lasik, except the dry eye issue which they mentioned to me but not emphasis, my tears dry was about 3-4 sec just like you all.

After  done my lasik, my vision recover was great, I can even play computer game on the next morning. Dry issue on recover period (1months) wasn’t really bother to me since I have my eyes drop daily.

On the 2nd month, post check-up result satisfied, only right eye with +25 astig, I highlighted my dry eye , optometrist told me is normal issue, just wait after month will be ok.

On the 3month, post check-up result still remaining satisfied, only right eye with +25 astig, I highlighted my dry eye issue (Redness), optometrist told me is normal issue. Have to apply more eye drop every2 hours.

On the 6th  month (Discharging month), post check-up result still remaining satisfied, I highlighted my dry eye issue, I told them my eye is RED, I did exactly what you all told me to do so. Still the problem exists. They referring me to the doctor, and the doctor recommend another stronger eye drop (Ultra Systane -  if I spell correctly). I apply every 1-2 hours, eye getting better, however, it did not last long.

Today is the 10th month after my lasik, The problem for what I facing now, I  wake up every morning with RED EYE , both eye consist on discharge (eye shits) , doctor told me this is  due to dryness. The function of the tears is help to discharge bacteria, dust on eye to the nose. After I apply for eye drop, the redness slowly dilute, but redness still persists after 1-2 hours.

Most of the time I have to rely on the eye drop. Whenever I go even when I staying in the house.

So my advice if you guys those having dry eye issue, PLEASE make your Choice wisely, else you all facing the problem just like me. As what Jialat Say , dry eye will get worse after lasik which I didn’t pay much attention on this.  And this is what I facing all the time……

of course, in fact the other lasik centre doctors will try their best to help solve your problem to prove they are better. Its always good to get second and third opinions before going for another surgery.
optimax will sacrifice that particular optometrist if kena complain, and train another to do same job. Once you signed that consent form, it means you have understood and willing to take all the necessary risk for lasik. They are well protected and patients can only blame themselves for not checking thoroughly. Commercial lasik centres are like that.
femto is still the most reliable one if you really want to do it.
Its good to get annual eye check, keep away from ocular disease. Its well worth.
Nowadays all lasik centres want to sapu all cases, do first then belakang baru kira. If they dont do, you ended up do it in another lasik centre, they rugi.

Dont go there, with the same consultation fee, u can go to many other good private medical centres.
He is not back until January 2017.

I have a few good corneal specialists that are good at handling post lasik case, one in penang, one in UK now, one in government hospital (retiring soon).

If you need to see one urgently in klang valley, i can ask my friend to arrange a referral letter for u to see the senior corneal specialist in private medical center on weekends only.

The normal eye doc I go not sure good or not.

You can ask really confuse to introduce.
