Just back from Optimax OUG, to my surprise they have the Berlin something test that mentioned here some years ago, maybe becoming a common thing now? It take a 3D shape of eyes for assessment.

Zeiss SMILE Pro 15,888 then Zeiss SMILE 13,888 and Femto 9,300 for both eyes.

I feel just few years to the potential start of farsightedness is not worth to do it now. sweat.gif

Optimax femto lasik is much more expensive and they push clients to choose relex smile.

The corneal specialist that I recommend charging only RM 7500 for 2 eyes femto lasik and his track record is excellent, all post lasik patients from him have zero power.

Hi I did some prior research before checking this thread.

Learnt that in general trans PRK has lesser risk than the LASIK, tho longer recovery time expected. But I guess my job is flexible to plan for the surgery, don't mind the longer recovery period if it means less risk.

Read about Dr Ainur in this thread and thinking of seeing him for examination on the risk and suitability.
I would like to know:
- Does Dr Ainir provide trans PRK?
- is he still practicing at the ADMC?

hi, yes Dr Ainur is still practicing in Ara damansara medical centre but he doesn't do trans PRK even though he is well trained on that too, he realized many patients cant tolerate the pain in the eyes.

actually trans PRK is easy to do. No flap, but painful after surgery for 3-4 days. if do Lasik pain maybe just 1st 3 hours then no more, vision can see 90% clear after lasik.

you are welcome to consult him first before making final decision.

Bro, does he still charge only RM$7500 for both eyes? because that is 1/3 the price Optimex quoted me for full correction.

I forgot what they called it but it corrects all (all 3) I think it was the most expensive option;

Monofocal: Corrects distance vision without correcting your reading. Reading glasses will be needed after the treatment.
▶ Bifocal: Corrects distance and reading vision without correcting your intermediate vision (computer vision, etc).
▶ Trifocal: Corrects vision at all distances, making it ideal for people who work in office

SunwayMed is currently offering a promo for Zeiss Smile at RM 7,888 but it requires two people to get this price. Otherwise, it will be RM 9,888.

Is anyone interested? I've already decided to go for Zeiss Smile but just need a partner to qualify for the promo price.

Just to share some of my experience and also want to ask a question to sifu jialat.

I did my LASIK back in 2007 (left/right around 2.50-3.00). Till now more than 17 years later, I can still see very clearly on my left eye but my right probably hitting 2.00 again.

Sifu jialat,

I want to seek advise is it advisable to do another LASIK?

Sorry for late reply, was in oversea.

You can consider doing lasik if you want perfect distance vision on right eye too, provided your right eye cornea still thick enough.

If you are above 40+ years old, then I suggest you keep it as it is, because the right eye will help you to see near vision clearly. Left eye clear for far distance, right eye good for near vision.
