I believe you can set one. Try to fiddle with the options on your program section.

Open your Zone Alarm. Go to program setting. U can see all the program that ZA allow or block. Unblock the UDP.

under programs.. i can only set Block allow, trusted or not trusted..

high med low..

i'm at high.. but UDP blocked. MED allow UDP. but in advanced, i've set Allow uncommon protocol at HIGH(this should allow UDP)

Option 1> Reinstall the Zone Alarm.
Option 2> Are you using Norton Security? It might be Norton which block your UDP.
Option 3> Go to your program list in your Zone Alarm and delete everything. Reconfigure every program setting again.

By default , ZoneAlarm does NOT block all incoming UDP traffic though.

I'm using Zonealarm 5.5.094.000 and I don't face this problem. I read somewhere Zonealarm 6 is a bit more leceh but I never used before

Try using the 5.5 version. You can download from the url below

Personally zone alarm is not a very user friendly firewall. It conflicts too much with lots of program. One might even argue if zone alarm itself isnt a spyware.

I believe the free ZA does not have allow UDP option. I ditched ZA and purchased Norton Internet Security for RM200 at lowyat plaza and am happy with it. so much user friendly.

But if you could not afford Norton, I guess the best option is still zone alarm. Have u tried other free firewall?

I am using the pro edition.

I would like to know, how come websites like digi.com.my wont display it's animations when my firewall is on and it'll display fine when my firewall off.

I also can't login to my INTI college web portal when firewall on, and I can login when firewall off.

What setting should I change/disable to prevent this from happening.

Thanks. Hope thread starter wont mind me borrowing your thread.

just information you shudn't to bump..

it is a very nice to use avg with all rounder protection, those which find it user unfriendly might be unfamiliar with it's interface.

i am very pleased with ZA at 1st, i have use sygate before this and found ZA to be much more friendlier.. make sure you know what you are doing, if there is a pop up asking whether to deny/proceed.. make sure you know the program well which is trying to gain access.

Norton product is already a big No No for me... my advice is, use ONLY 1 firewall or 1 Anti-virus, things are not the more the safer... in this case. Things start to mess up if there is too many AV
