SErious note.. there is no way u can hit the skid plat over bump no matter how fast u fly.. the thing that hit is the wheel splash shield.. front part..

But most ppl drive ar 2000-3000rpm.. ever tot how much hp u are getting at that range?

And start stop traffic.. torque is much much more important..

For daily driven car.. for those big cc car.. diff story as big cc makes a lot of torque..

Common ... who had a broken engine due to stone.. Cons.. whatever .. u name it ..

Road noise reduction .. i have no comment..

been driving for some time d .... even older days .. no issue even with sabah's crazy road ..

the only car i remember having issue with that is ... GEN2!
yes .. coz the oil sump container was too low and always kena .. many ppl pecah tat oil sump container..

all my life i heard engine broken due to crankshaft, conrod, piston, knock, water, bird fly in, but never hit by random stone

what abt knock wild animals then rolled deep below then sucked into engine compartment. Can happen?

RANDOM STUFF FROM BELOW ENGINE coming in summore.. 

Lancer and inspira both ground clearance is 150mm ... u wan something to hit the engine or Gearbox .. at least 200 mm height ... and it must only appear in the center of road only.. if u cannot see the 200 mm thing in the center .. I think u should not be driving for the sake of other ppl's safety ..

for a random TRUCK to RANDOMLY hit a RANDOM stone .. and so RANDOM that it flew under and into your engine bay .. yes .. only from the front .. random right .. coz the side would have kena ur wheels ... door .. fender ... or the back side of the car.. coz ur car moving front.... so random that it flew into the engine bay .. unless u reversing in the highway la .. the vector might still have chance to RaNdom hit ... 

its like me buying 6D from Toto

So the block hit ur bumper... not thru below the engine bay and come back up rite ..

so lesson learn here is leave the triton and wildtrack alone.. dun go trail trail..

but talk like buying this thing will make sure engine safe n sound .. that is a problem d ...

chances of happening is nearly NIL .. and the Engine block is VERY strong ... if something that can KILL an engine block .. i think the skidplat confirm cannot tahan as well ...

I would rather worry sand goes into the CV join with a broken CV cover..

If says its for noise reduction or aero dynamic.. No idea... its not proven ..

maybe the skid plate protection is not for damages to the extreme extent that will make engine/gearbox/lampa pow cha, but just to reduce minor damages like my own example of hitting concrete test cube.. objects that won't destroy the parts but will damage it abit la...

front squarish black piece is hard metal (what is that??) so scratches abit lo, behind beside the lower arm de is all plastic, cracked edy and small piece fell off from the incident...

if i had the skid plate as u can see from the 2nd pic it covers the parts that kena....

tbh i actually did consider the new ranger before buying inspira... was one of the few choices i had in mind back then.. ranger looks damn manly/lovely

but the little boy in me told me to go for lala instead..
