Great. See you around!

To anyone who may have info,

Are all the new MBBS batch staying with each other in the hostel?

As in, all our roomates will be doing MBBS? or will we be assigned with other senior students as well.

Since only during registration day, our hostel rooms are set. rclxub.gif

Thanks smile.gif

Can anyone tell me how campus life is over there? Are clubs active? With practices (sports clubs) and events?

Also, the laundry service.. I apparently have to pay RM30 per month. How does that work? They come to collect? Do we do the ironing? Do you guys put any relatively 'expensive' clothes in?

Thanks for the help wink.gif

people rarely drive past taman university.

your uncle is better off opening a shop at taman tasik indah, where students from BLM can SEE the shop.

we need more shops IN the campus, not outside.

we students just need more social activities, printing/stationary/food stalls are adequate at the moment.
*
The student council should be the one promiting social activities. CLUBS, events, etc.
Is there any electronic portal to voice out directly to them? o.o?
Their facebook group seems dead =.=

1 to 2 non-foundation students.. wow! That means my chances are slim man. how disappointing. just wonder, since the fees for the MBBS and BDS course @ AIMST is really affordable, would it be crazy if after my a-levels i realise i was not acccepted to either the MBBS or BDS course, i apply for the foundation programme instead and just do another 1 year foundation so that i may get a seat @ for the MBBS or BDS programme? i know it sounds really crazy but wat do u guys recommend? I really wanna hear from current AIMST MBBS or BDS students. Please give me some advice on this  smile.gif . Would really apreciate them. And also if possible do let me know are the lecturers @ AIMST good for the MBBS and BDS course?
*
Not one or two non foundation students. In my year (2009 intake) we have at least 100 who are not from foundation. There are people who repeat the foundation year and have been successful-however you lose one year. Weigh the pros and cons.

The lecturers here are qualified. Don't worry about that lol.

nope..yes Malaysia government will absorb you into the housemanship programme, but after that, the hospitals will be crowded with GP,less exploration to each and every department and im afraid that the quality will drop.If doctors are really in excess and even some doctors will be jobless, then tat will be a sad day for malaysia.

Surplus of dentists isn't as serious as doctors, dental schools are relatively fewer and also the students.Lets take Aimst as example, for every year 200 doctors will be graduating, meanwhile 75 dentists only.A recent news reported that pharmacists and dentists are still not enough, meanwhile we almost had reached the WHO standards for doctor-to-patient ratio.
*
Who cares if there's surplus. If you're up there and able to compete with the rest, there's nothing to be afraid of. Why do something you're not into and let that passion fade? Hard work will only get you so far. What demarcates you from the others is passion. Do you have it?

yes,i appreciate ur views but i have my opinions as well.In fact,i have a fren who is studying MBBS in UM said so too.

So you'd rather be a mediocre dentist rather than a fantastic doctor just because it's "safe" to be a dentist?
I'm not trying to break you down btw, I'm helping you make a decision which will shape your entire future. Hopefully you know what's at stake.

meet me in BM thumbup.gif

uh ohh.. The seniors are probably not around to tell you this since most of us are on holiday.

Wireless routers are not allowed as they clash with the AIMST IP addresses. Instead students are requested to purchase switches.

Alternatively, you could purchase your own wireless router -but it must be first configured by the IT division (you have to send it there- which is a hassle)

All newcomers please take note smile.gif
