he mention about programmable keys.. unless he wanted something like Razer's dedicated macro keys.. otherwise, KBT Race would be a good choice to tag with autohotkey

Anybody has experience playing games on a 60% keyboard? Please share your experiences & opinions! smile.gif

This that come to mind:
-difficult to access function keys for games like SC1 & 2
-no inventory hotkeys for games like Dota
*
60% definitely not a good choice for gaming, some game require ESC row keys especially those online games or games that take advantage of custom key mapping. less key = less mapping possibility

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...d&v=YaXOuTEHwkw this seems the one what he doing
*
SS 6GV2 is using plate mounted cherry switches, the video you're referring is using PCB mounted cherry switches.

plated mounted is hard to remove which involves soldering process or so..

Are aluminium casings really worth the extra cash?
*
You might not need it, but you want it.

Anyway, just like others mentioned, it's about the feel.

Some would gladly fork out bunch of moolah just to have that small changes of typing experience.

n00b question, all mech keyboards can change caps? even those branded one ie Logitech, Razer, SS?
*
Yes, because they all uses the same Cherry MX switches.

Just the problem is the layout they uses, such as Razer, Corsair, Logitech they have different spacebar row layout.. that causes problem when you trying to look for compatible key cap sets..

by the way, I heard that changing a Razer's cap = voiding warranty.. sweat.gif tell me this is a joke..

World peace~

just my 2-cents:

Mechanical keyboard is a rather durable and long-lived computer peripheral, unlike some other components that would lost their value in a short time, mech kbs would stand on their value if they're still in good condition.

Sold to upgrade. Edifier promised a TKL late April

for me, I'd buy a dedicated media controller just to keep the board as simple as it could. (if I need media functionalities)

QUOTE(Coconut @ Apr 18 2013, 03:48 PM)
What does PBT mean? A different type of keycaps? What is the standard keycaps on a RK9000 called?

That day on PCfair, i saw a rosewill keyboard with white frame and black blank keycaps, Robotica says that is their own keyboard, anyone knows what keycaps he use? It does feel very nice, and also that white frame is custom made or is ori?
*
PBT = Polybutylene terephthalate (aka another type of plastic tongue.gif )

another type of material being used to make key caps.

the key caps we usually know are made of ABS, which is cheaper.

PBT and ABS compared:
- PBT is much more durable
- PBT has higher heat resistance
- PBT key cap surface texture do not wear off easily
- PBT is more expensive...

Post yours. Too many result. Hehe... Kinda sexy thing to own too.
*
I don't own one lol, just saying I prefer to leave my keyboard as basic as it could.

without any media controls or whatsoever smile.gif

so a dedicated media controller is my solution if I'm needing those controls.

Guys, what do you think of this statement?
CODE
I am just worried about the condition of your keyboard, because mechanical keyboard is very fragile, and if the keyboard is faulty eventho if its just one key, the value drops trememndously...

*
clearly not a guy with proper knowledge in mechanical keyboards.

they're used to rubber domes that goes into bin when something went wrong.

tell me if his car's tyre got punctured or whatsoever, I go lowball him cause the value drops tremendously already. no point selling high price as no tyre cannot move.

Yup, I did take a look at your sig. Not interested in tankyless keyboards though, I value the numberpad a lot =)
Thanks for the links. I checked them both. Daskeyboard is sold pretty expensive though, as compared to the brand's official site. But that's excludin shippinng and all that ofc. The Ducky Zero is pretty reasonable though. But I don't like illuminated keypads. I could turn off the lighting right? I'm basically looking for an entry-level blue switch, and as simple and plain as possible. Not looking for fancy stuff like backlight and macro keys and all that. Any suggestions?
Haha, I'm quiet a down-to-earth guy and don't want unnecessary attention. And not everybody likes the clicky sound, eventhough I really do. It's the main reason I'm looking for a blue switch one haha.
*
I think you misunderstand about Ducky Zero. The truth is they're not backlight/illuminated keyboard.

there are 5 LEDs on ducky zero:
- Caps Lock
- Scroll Lock
- Num Lock
- F10 - (Win + F10 to enable/disable windows key)
- F12 - (Win + F12 to change between USB 6KRO or USB NKRO)
