i noticed some keycaps that are being sold in taobao.
the picture is not clear, and the color of the items is very dull.

this is one of item. Although some seller claim to have low light condition and camera not good, if it true?

If you ask me thou, Rm65 seems close to the real thing, in contrast to the others "ducky arm rest" that is going for Rm20-30, maybe 45 and has multi branding(including filco and steelseries) for the same price.
As for a filco wrist rest , it seems it cost 400 rmb, about Rm200....

Besides that, a ducky zero in china is about Rm200, about Rm70/25% cheaper compared to here so a wrist rest at about 30% cheaper doesn't sound too far off. Of course this only holds true thou if you believe the ducky zero on taobao is not an imitation as well.
Maybe it's just a difference in importing tax price or something, I don't know, Malaysia is just overly taxing imported stuff sometimes.

Ps: I honestly believe that not everything is an imitation. Tmall is pretty trust-able and there are stores that I genuinely trust such as jaben china and tmall.

Well you got what you paid for.... it should had been pretty obvious that it was an imitation.

erm...i think engraved or not..it will still shine through...but its the whole keycaps...not just purely shine through the legend only.

I thought you had a friend going to china? Why not just buy the caps on taobao and ask him to send to you.
