got meh such thing as off?

First notch (which means you cannot move the stick to the left anymore) is Off, then the second notch is Auto. I always set the wiper to Auto, but then there's a 'bug' (tongue.gif), if I start the engine with the wiper set to Auto, then the hazard light will blink laugh.gif

Err... Suprima S interior... I don't dig it, I still prefer Preve's interior, it looks more classy compared to the sporty interior of Suprima.

Apa dah jadi dengan pereka kereta Proton ah? Tak menarik langsung, the trim is so so only... Agreed that Preve interior is much better.

And the name Suprima? Why not Preve HB?

To be fair, other people might like the look.

Targeted market definitely same as Neo buyer who prefered performance over luxuries. Do you think Neo buyer bother the exclusiveness of Preve? They only bother the sporty features. Those dashboard are nothing with their boost, coolant temp, and oil pres. gauges later on installed. So old people should stay back and buy Preve instead. Leave this model to the targeted market. MYR 75k? Parents going to be butt hurt. Highway will full of youngster competing Golf(Polo can leave behind already). Can't wait another 2 years scenario.
*
Why are you getting so worked up? hmm.gif So people can't voice their opinion on the Suprima based on their own perceptions?

I also can voice out my opinion right? Maybe we can discuss more on the technical/features since they highlighted "fully loaded with built-in value". Name is name. Who ever holds the highest share in a company can decide what ever names they want to brand it.
*
Yes you can, but I'm more interested the way you conveyed your words that implied you resented Preve. It is called marketing. No one is gonna argue if a milk brand claiming their product as "the tastiest milk in the market".

Since the specs aren't officially out, you will have to wait. There's nothing to discuss until then smile.gif

if you bring own lubricant for service, anything warranty claim on the engine will not be entertain.

As I work in O&G field, I have some accesses to purchase engine oil (any brand, any spec) at staff price tongue.gif Usually I ask what oil will be used if I send for service, and some SC do allow me to bring my own.

As an O&G profession background, what's your personal oil grade for Preve CFE here in Malaysia? brows.gif
*
Nah my field is in upstream, and not production (downstream) tongue.gif But full or semi, they both have their own pros and cons. No doubt you'll get more mileage with fully, but I feel better sending my car for service every 5,000km hmm.gif

Hi guys, this may be a silly question. The preve gps only used for gps and radio? cannot play music or movie from pendrive?
*
No movie / video file. There's a USB slot in the compartment above the gear.

Well the screen is considered small to play video. I'm sourcing for Suprima HU, got a quote for RM 1.3k though.

A vendor gave me a bottle of Syntium 5000 for free biggrin.gif

Anyway, after some research, many people recommend EA Autoworks to install reverse camera, since they said it does not void warranty, so I might give a try this weekend hmm.gif

hello all, notworthy.gif  just got a call from my bank that my application for preve cfe loan just got approved. So now has to decide which colour that i want. Just wanna ask,in here mostly u guys pilih what colour?haha  hmm.gif

ps: being reading this page since i decided to buy preve.  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  hopefully can get a unit without any problem listed in this thread.  sweat.gif

Silver as usual is the safe colour, black and red to look sporty (I prefer the former), and the brown does indeed look elegant and nice.

Don't worry about the problems, most of them can be fixed. For my case, the infamous metal creaking when making a turn was no longer there after driving it for some times.

What's the general consensus on the Preve IAFM CVT? hmm.gif

Compared to CFE, underpowered on highway.

Then can't really give you my accurate impression, since I've only ridden in it twice and that's mostly on highway laugh.gif

wah, without ncd it should be around 66k is it? have a few cars in mind, and preve is on the list.
*
Without NCD it would have been 67k like you mentioned before smile.gif

My advice for you, forget everything other people say about Preve (or Proton in general) and test drive for yourself, and you'll find out why majority of us here ditched the Japanese brand cars of the similar price tag biggrin.gif For my case alone, I gave up Elantra and Civic, the former was for non-satisfactorily driving experience, and the latter was because of Preve offered more values to me, and I saved around 40k smile.gif

QUOTE(Super Saiya @ Sep 11 2013, 07:28 PM)
i'm thinking to buy my first car. i have set my mind the price should be around 60k+. After some readings, i have listed 3 cars: Preve CFE, Mitsubishi Attrage and Nissan Almera.

CC: 1.6 vs 1.2 vs 1.5
Segment: C vs B vs B
Engine: Proton vs Mitsubishi vs Nissan

Let put aside FC, second value, spec, safety and design of the cars. I'm not rich, so i want to use my first car as long as i can like 15 years to 20 years if possible. Maintenance cost is also my main concern here, not sure which one is better. Is 1.2 good enough for Sedan car? i have read about Ford 1.0 ecoboost engine and some reviewers claims that this engine is powerful than current 1.6 engine Ford has. Not sure about 1.2 cc with Mitsubishi engine. i may have to travel outside of city frequently, so the car i will buy is not only for city drive. Ford, Toyota and Honda are above my budget, so i will not consider that cars.

To summarize, i need a car with:
1. long term use  thumbup.gif
2. low/good/easy maintenance  rclxms.gif

Hope you can advise/assist me on this, please.
*
Err... you come to this thread, so I think you'll get more Preve-biased advices laugh.gif

Nevertheless here's what I thought to answer your two points. Long term use and easiness are contributed by mainly the spare parts availability. The way things are now, Preve and Almera are quite abundant on the roads, so both of these cars are easy to maintain. I don't know for Almera, but for Preve roughly you'll need around RM200 for normal service including the engine oil, every 3-4 months. Almera FC is not that great as my colleague told me, in fact he's considering two sell his 4 months old Almera for a Vios. Preve is technically a '2.0' C-Segment car, you need to expect how this kind of car is guzzling the fuel, normal for its class (along with Civic, Forte and Altis).

For long term use, it's hard to gauge considering all these three cars are still new in the market, Almera and Preve being barely over one year old. You'll find city driving is quite drab for Preve, but once you hit above 80km/h, be watchful of how you step your paddle so not to get captured by speed trap camera, this car is hungry for acceleration on highways brows.gif

In my opinion, the suspension on Focus seems better because of the very low cabin noise, but bump to bump, they are similar.
