Well there is a reason. Cost cutting. Same wheels means no need to have a lot of mold for it. And QC assured. No need to tampo or paint the wheels also. The savings used to mean that every car can have a moving feature, like opening doors, suspensions and swiveling mechanisms. But these days the opening doors seems to be omitted from cars. Tampos seems to be less detailed also. They also recast some cars that used to have doors to no doors. Prices here goes up, value for it is getting less. shakehead.gif

Yeah, i remembered during the 80s, when diecast made in macau mostly, opening doors are standard with some can open hood and bonnet.

Another strange thing, some cars seem to grow in size. Which does not standardize the range anymore.

I always stay away from model that have the generic metallic one. Always looks unappealing no matter how good the car model is. The black one although still the same for some of the models works for me. Here is one of the example from my latest haul yesterday.

Wow! That VW Van looks sweet. With the Tomica Limited line gone i can now focus on this series. Must remember to buy them when i see them instead of thinking of coming back for them again

Is premium range better than limited? The extreme price compared to packaging doesn't show that.

I don't get the comparison. Tomica Limited line is discontinued. Good luck in finding any hot/in demand model for cheap. Tomica Limited Vintage/Neo is pricier than Tomica Premium.
Tomica Premium price is almost the same as Tomica Limited (TL-756¥ vs. TP-800¥(baseline for cars)) after factoring inflation and such and depending on models.

For me, I don't have favorite's line. I collect any model that appeal to my eyes. But so far still haven't get my hands on any Limited Vintage yet as it a lot pricey and so far still didn't find any model that I really want from that line that urge me to spend on that kind of price.
