If I'm not mistaken,
HTC One uses the native built-in audio DAC in Krait;
Galaxy S4 uses WM5102 Wolfson audio DAC

Wolfson is better

HTC One phones (Snapdragon 600), sampling at 48kHz which is a joke vmad.gif

Exynos version of Galaxy S IV uses superb wolfson DAC biggrin.gif

HTC may blind the mass with boom sound/stereo speaker/other mumbo-jumbo but my ear will cringe hearing a 48kHz. We need a petition for its audio to make it a justice.

Haha that's good.  biggrin.gif Currently I'm more inclined towards silver, since most of my phones are black; want to try a diff color this time.

Anyway guys, here's a really in-depth review of the HTC One by Anandtech. worth checking it out!  rclxm9.gif

Anandtech gave a very good insight on the phone. The only thing I miss is the audio measurement.

I think the audio test will be done by supercurio in later date as he is a guest audio tester for Anandtech

According to http://www.chipworks.com/blog/recentteardo...de-the-htc-one/ The chip is the same as used in nexus 4/sgs III - Qualcomm WCD9310

Since it is not a Wolfson, I do not have high hopes for it.

i thought both can't tell difference if both using loud speaker? i don't know how he judge the phone audio quality by loud speaker or with a same spec headphone/ear buds.  hmm.gif

with practice, you can train your ear to differentiate the sound.

This email i recieved this morning from Handtec. I have order 1 unit on behalf my brother on end March. Email 2 days ago was shipping out expected this week. More n uncertain delays:

Handtec have been informed by HTC Distribution that there will be further delays affecting both Black and Silver HTC One pre-orders.

For all customers who have ordered the HTC One 32gb Black we have been informed that this will now be expected towards the end of April-Early May.

At this time HTC One 32gb Silver customers should expect delays until the 22nd/29th April.

Unfortunately no exact date has been given for either device but as soon as we can confirm this we will update the relevant product pages immediately.

The Batch that was expected for this week is no longer due to arrive.

I didn't know we can already order one?

It not what chip the phone have but how it's used. Though Samsung have better DAC..they always choke/gated the output. Always need mods to release the true audio out doh.gif
*
True. s4 wolfson output is at 48kHz which is a joke.

htc one may not have wolfson DAC
sgs IV may crapify its audio output with 48kHz

It doesn't matter if you are satisfied with the music coming out of the phone.

Various websites gave photo samples comparing HTC camera with different smartphones. Judge them for yourselves as you are the who will be using the phone.

We don't have to nitpick on such small difference between devices. You are not an audiophile or a camera pro. Just enjoy it!

Heres the thing. Sellers other than official retailers of HTC will not be getting their stocks that fast.
Stock priority goes to the following in this sequence
1. SenQ/Sen Heng/DiGi
2. Official retailers (Cubics, etc)
3. Other telcos
4. Other retailers

Any difference if I go to OU to preorder or online at senheng.com.my?

I am an existing iPhone 4S user,I want to upgrade my phone to ip5 since the os really catch my heart, but with the coming htc one and S4 it really makes me think twice which one should I get..I never use an android phone before so I really need your honest opinion whether I have to stick to the iOS or go for the android?
*
IMO, you'll feel more at home with HTC one thanks to its metallic build.

Best is to play with an android phone first, not the low/mid range phones - they are indeed laggy.

Touchwiz has a reputation of being bloated and laggy while htc sense 5 is more nimble and smoother in general.

Pure android that google releases itself isn't laggy at all.

which is more excellent performance s4 or htc one?
*
Can't really say for sure for now as I don't have both devices in my hand. But from many reviews I've read, there are some varying reports about microstutter in touchwiz.

OTOH, a lower spec Nexus 4 which is a pure android experience doesn't even lag.

Both phones are among the fastest phone on earth right now, I don't think you could go wrong with either one.
