QUOTE(benny888 @ Apr 5 2013, 12:31 PM) Hardwarezone.sg update Why not wait for Padfone Infinity ? Update on 5/4/2013: Following its earlier press release on 25th March, HTC Singapore has announced that the HTC One will be available in Singapore at all mobile operators and authorized retailers in Glacier Silver from 13th April 2013. The Stealth Black variant will be available from May onwards. The HTC One (32GB) is priced at S$968 and the 64GB model will cost S$1,068. Those prices I supposed include the 7% GST |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Apr 13 2013, 11:23 PM) OK these are my immediate impressions of the phone past 2 hours. I will update you guys with more of my thoughts till Sunday . On Monday it will be sent to my brother Thanks Sifu. More excuses that I should wait for Padfone Infinity The BIG positives : gorgeous display, the best in all the androids I have used to date. Text are extremely fine. I'd say it even puts the ip5 to shame. Superb audio quality through the phone speakers - extremely clear and loud , much better than Butterfly and I noted Beats audio is default enabled while it is not in Butterfly ( only when headset is plug in). Thrash to oblivion my other Xperia Z audio quality ( even with modded audio files) Phone calls - audio quality crystal clear and is way, way much better than Xperia Z Immediate negatives - the 3 dot menu cannot be hidden in certain apps and placed , say at top right or bottom right . I cannot find the settings to do it . It was an option in the Butterfly in the settings/display menu. So for example if you launch Facebook, you see this nasty 3 dot menu at bottom center, immediately reducing the display size to about 4.5 inch only. I will try to google and see any solution to this I am still figuring how to enable additional options to the 2 soft keys. Keyboard as in Butterfly is horrible and overly sensitive. Keep having typing mistakes : suggest use Smart Keyboard Pro or even Swift Key as replacement Browsing smoothness loses out very obviously vs Xperia Z. Display is also overly sensitive so much so, when browsing , just slight touch elsewhere on the webpage will loop you to another web page - quite irritating at times Blinkfeed is nothing new to me as I have been running Sense 5 rom on my Butterfly. It is either you love it or you hate it affair. I love it. And Sense 5 is very, very much smoother , responsive vs Sense 4+. So much so this is the only HTC rom I don't mind using its default UI . All previous HTC , I always use Nova Launcher as replacement And why HTC still wants to put the power button at top and this time is even worse thanĀ Butterfly as it is slightly recessed in further , making it slightly more difficult to press it vs Butterfly This post has been edited by SteadyPana: Apr 14 2013, 12:19 AM |

QUOTE(kuntakinte @ Apr 26 2013, 08:17 PM) If you are whore for google services, then android is for you. I love everything google from gmail, keep, g+, chrome beta, etc right down to their mantra 'don't be evil' Motorola X The latest android iteration has the superb Google Now, which is amazingly outstanding One drag from the home button and you get every damn info you need and Google thinks you needed if you let it track your usage and location. For example, when I am at home, I get - latest football scores from the teams I track - updates on air flights I am taking, whether delayed or on time - estimated time home or to office based on current traffic condition - estimated time to a venue which Google flagged based on your frequent journeys to the area e.g. My weekly badminton venue was promptly picked up by Google and asked for my permission to save as a location I wish to track. - informs of package shipment from amazon purchases When overseas, google Now automatically - picks up areas of interest that I searched for previously and gave me an estimated distance and journey - bus numbers to the venue - places of interest based on my current location - flight info updates As Benny has pointed out, the nexus 4 is a very good phone with commitment from Google for the latest and fastest updates now and in the future. The hybrids are HTC or Samsung, but as a previous Samsung S3 user, I absolutely abhor the bloatware that's touchwiz. I think HTC sense is more elegant and usable. As a very happy Nexus 4 user, I'll probably be getting a HTC One to play with whilst waiting for the next Nexus iteration, ie the Nexus X |
