I went to check out some other display sets today... most of those have bigger gap than mine, but I do see 2-3 units with perfect alignment... hope the front speaker panels wont drop off in after prolonged usage...

Yup, I found note 2 the toggle panel is very convenient, everything is arranged together

not like htc one, but for me I only download launcher, coz I don't know rooting lol, coz some launcher got those widgets in the homepage screen

Custom rom means you can use windows OS in android phone right? LOL

yesterday i used windows 8 launcher on my htc, the new homepage seems so.....refreshing rather than the bored htc sense

Custom ROM Symbian for HTC One got?

It's a lot easier to root & custom ROM on Samsung phones thanks to ODIN.
Every hardware vendor have their own way of "locking" and "unlocking"...HTC is known for being one of the "hardest" to root..nowadays already much better I remember few years back...if you Brick your phone you can kiss it bye bye..become paperweight

Samsung, SE, Moto is less tricky & complex..but....that's where the fun starts for HTC..IMO HTC have the largest developer community on XDA..so a lot of custom ROMs and mods

you already got your HTC One?
I would suggest hold off on rooting the One first (if that's what you're planning) as the One community is still relatively "young"...the guides/videos won't be as many and detailed as a more mature community

also, the more users there is, the more ppl that can help you if you bump into issues..especially if you have no experience of rooting before

I would say the stock Rom is Ok for most users. Only those who like further tweaks will go to custom for more possibilities. I flash my butterfly solely to have Sense5 on it.
I would say current OEM roms whether is Samsung, HTC, Sony are very much improved over say previous GB,ICS versions
If I ever get this HTC1 myself I will still flash custom Rom as is just my habit to always have something different from ordinary.
But be mentally prepared that warranty could be void as unlock bootloader is required

yup see what u want from a phone.. self testing is the best i myself will refrain myself from buying non-removable batt phone anymore.. nowadays phone need to keep recharge, so battery easy lose it capacity.. powerbank also no use, charge full then half day habis.. better get removable battery for practical.. non-removable very sleek and looks seamless i agreed.

Now I am wondering, should I get off contract or not. Because no matter what switching from Digi to Maxis will make me pay more monthly for the plan. I calculated base on HTC Butterfly price, since its the same price as HTC One (I assume for now they will end up using the same plan and prices as well). End up I will still pay more after 12/24 months and get tied up with contract some more.

Oh I dont plan to sign up with Digi. I waiting for Maxis. But if HTC Butterfly is an indication, like I say, I will still end up paying more. Its better I get off contract plan from Maxis and get the phone from SengHeng/SenQ

With Digi now I am paying less than RM100. If I switch to Maxis I will be aiming below RM100 as well. Most probably a TalkMore48 + 1GB data, which is about RM96 total. Somemore no contract.

I assume you don't talk and sms much. Surfmore plan is really not suitable for me.

If I am in the market for a non Nexus phone, I'll definitely take the HTC One over the over hyped and over rated evolutionary S4.  Be it in terms of build quality, design, this phone shouts premium all the way compared to the cheapo look and feel  of S4.

If only Google had contracted HTC with the Nexus.  damn!!!  I wonder if we can flash stock android rom on it and every android update thereafter. Is this possible?

Otherwise, I'll just wait to replace my nexus 4 with Nexus X
