The trouble is that the One is apparently not designed to be opened at all, and scored a 1 out of 10 on repairability by iFixit, which is a score no other smartphone has ever received

Rationally speaking, this is going to cause massive headaches for their service centers. Sales stock needs to be carefully weighed against RMA stocks, and they had better ensure that QC is good enough to drive it down below 1% faults.

This means that for those who dropped the device and cracked their screens, how is the user going to have it replaced, EVEN if they wanted to PAY for a replacement screen???

4.7" with 1080p, one handed navigate + 1080p. Best of both world.

5" and 4.7" different is quite big. Compared with my Butterfly and Nexus 4  thumbup.gif

HTC One will be perfect for people who want best quality yet portable  rclxms.gif
*
you didn't get what he meant. it has a higher ppi because the screen is smaller compared to S4.

and what nonsense are you talking about?!

S4 has a bigger screen at 5" but it's slightly slimmer and almost the same size as the S3 which in turn is almost the same size as the Htc One. HELLO? doh.gif

best quality? said who? you? because your opinion takes precedence over everyone else?

and speaking of portability, go read reviews my dear friend, almost all vouched that the S4 is much more comfortable to hold compared to One.

Why blinkfeed? Aren't there mods or apps that can do the same? Or an extract of the Blinkfeed apk when it arrives?

Zoe, I don't know, if hardware is powerful enough, anything can be emulated in software.
*
Hmm, speaking of that. Then i guess the only thing it has over the S4 is naked beauty?

oh yes that, thanks for reminding! Maybe for someone else, but not in my books. I don't play songs/videos out loud. Always used a headphone/earphone smile.gif

Maybe it will serve better for people who are watching videos/sharing songs with friends.

If I'm not mistaken,
HTC One uses the native built-in audio DAC in Krait;
Galaxy S4 uses WM5102 Wolfson audio DAC

Wolfson is better

Actually, I know it. hehehe. Just acted like a dumbass to draw people's attention. Fanboys' attention to be exact. To see how would they answer it.

No man. We do not intend to start a flamewar. As you can see, all that we have said so far is/are always backed up with facts and evidence. It is up to each his own to perceive them as they see fit.

I conjecture that the difficulty in disassembly likewise applies to assembly ?

I recall reading some articles writing that it took 200mins to create one from start to finish due to the fine craftsmanship? In which case they'd need A LOT of machining sets.

6000 x 200mins = 1,200,000mins, what, about 3 years?

Assuming they ramp up to 100 sets every 200mins, they'd still need 60x200min = 12,000mins, which is about 8 days.

It can't be that they've only gotten 6000 sets of stock just enough for Taiwan, as they launched the product 1 month ago. So ....  hmm.gif

Unless they get some serious capacity ramp up or process simplification, the prognosis is not rosy.

Perhaps as a metaphor, how long does it take 1 woman to get dressed for a nice dinner vs how long 1 man takes to get dressed for the same dinner?  laugh.gif

just to give you a hindsight. For those that dont root or install custom ROMs. If im not mistaken HTC one x / one x+ havent gotten their 4.1.2 update yet. or maybe just recently only. Not too sure about that, would love someone who uses the phone to share the info with me, many thanks. and S3 and Note 2 had their 4.1.2 ages ago. S3 in early january and Note 2 last year got it.

Mayb htc slow sikit kua on updates, but mine DHD has no update oredy from HTC, i think bcoz it's oredy 2 years kua but we can always root it even no updates right...

U know what?? HTC so good leh... b4 entering in 2nd year recently for my DHD, they able to change the whole new LCD & chasis and battery for me! SO, it's important to get 2 years warranty though and this is one of the reason why i like htc too... kekeke...  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

For ONE, it's better to have 2 years warranty

yeah. but imagine if they still support it like samsung still supporting s2 until 4.2.2. Confirm will win many more hearts. But too bad they dont do that brows.gif
